McCain was born in Panama: Can he be President?

I was born overseas in a military family and I always believed this precluded me from running for President. Which made my transition to smokin 'dro and fuckin freaky girls a little easier to justify :D :D :D

1. It's funny/odd that this has come up so many times in history and never been challenged or resolved in those instances.

2. Based on the universal principles which inspired the Declaration of Independence (which the Founders obviously did not live up to) everyone should be able to be President regardless of place of birth.

3. It's funny as hell, just in a historical sense, to look at this upcoming general election and think of Obama as more American than John McCain, especially as defined by the Framers.

lol, yup, very ironic indeed.

Because we didnt have military bases in other countries whenbthey wrote it, dumbass. There has been significant expansion since then. US embassies across the globe are considered US soil. The term has changed somewhat. If its us soil, then you're natural born.

I started to post that as long as the U.S. wants to station men with wives, and women abroad, their children born abroad will be considered born on U.S. soil. Then it occurred to me that many Americans oppose U.S. imperialism, and would love nothing more than having married soldiers decline assignment overseas. Who knows what this could lead to?

Philosophers call this "Pandora's Box", and there is always a Pandora around.

My sister was born on a Military base in Thailand. I was born on a Military base here in the US. Both of our Birth Certs. show US Fort____Army Base. She's never had any issues regarding citizenship.
