The alien abduction story that seems to have started the cult beliefs about alien visitation and experimentation is the Barney and Betty Hill story. The Hills claim to have been abducted by aliens on September 19, 1961. Barney claims the aliens took a sample of his sperm. Betty claims they stuck a needle in her belly button. She took people out to an alien landing spot, but only she could see the aliens and their craft. The Hills recalled most of their story under hypnosis a few years after the abduction. Barney Hill reported that the aliens had "wraparound eyes," a rather unusual feature. However, twelve days earlier an episode of "The Outer Limits" featured just such an alien being (Kottmeyer). According to Robert Schaeffer, "we can find all the major elements of contemporary UFO abductions in a 1930 comic adventure, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century."
The Hill’s story has been repeated many times. There is a period of amnesia following the alleged encounter. There is then usually a session of hypnosis, counseling or psychotherapy during which comes the recollection of having been abducted and experimented on. The only variation in the abductees’ stories is that some claim to have had implants put in them and many claim to have scars and marks on their bodies put there by aliens. All describe the aliens in much the same way.
Whitby Strieber, who has written several books about his alleged abductions, came to the realisation he had been abducted by aliens after psychotherapy and hypnosis. Strieber claims that he saw aliens set his roof on fire. He says he has traveled to distant planets and back during the night. He wants us to believe that he and his family alone can see the aliens and their spacecraft while others see nothing. Strieber comes off as a very disturbed person, but one who really believes he sees and is being harassed by aliens. He describes his feelings precisely enough to warrant believing he was in a very agitated psychological state prior to his visitation by aliens. A person in this heightened state of anxiety will be prone to hysteria and be especially vulnerable to radically changing behavior or belief patterns. When Strieber was having an anxiety attack he consulted his analyst, Robert Klein, and Budd Hopkins, an alien abduction researcher. Then, under hypnosis, Strieber started recalling the horrible aliens and their visitations.
Hopkins demonstrated his sincerity and investigative incompetence on the public television program Nova ("Alien Abductions," first shown on February 27, 1996). The camera followed Hopkins through session after session with a very agitated, highly emotional "patient". Then Nova followed Hopkins to Florida where he cheerfully helped a visibly unstable mother inculcate in her children the belief that they had been abducted by aliens. In between more sessions with more of Hopkin's "patients", the viewer heard him repeatedly give plugs for his books and his reasons for showing no skepticism at all regarding the very bizarre claims he was eliciting from his "patients". Dr. Elizabeth Loftus was asked by Nova to evaluate Hopkin's method of "counseling" the children whose mother was encouraging them to believe they had been abducted by aliens. From the little that Nova showed us of Hopkins at work, it was apparent that Mr. Hopkins encouraged the creation of memories, though Hopkins claims he is uncovering repressed memories. Dr. Loftus noted that Hopkins did much encouraging of his "patients" to remember more details, as well as giving many verbal rewards when new details were brought forth. Dr. Loftus characterized the procedure as "risky" because we do not know what effect this "counseling" will have on the children. It seems we can safely predict one effect: they will grow up thinking they've been abducted by aliens. This belief will be so embedded in their memory that it will be difficult to get them to consider that the "experience" was planted by their mother and cultivated by alien enthusiasts like Hopkins.

I'm gonna take you at your word here and assume you're being honest. Flies and military weapons or vessels being tested can't and don't answer all the sightings. 10% aren't ever solved or explained and I point to those being ripe for further study.
The movie doesn't follow the book well enough. They take liberties and try to make it more entertaining instead of educational. Reading the book would be better.

people always want every case to be a genuine ufo and if they arent then they automatically say that verifies that ufo's dont exist. thats flawed thinking. 10% is more than enough to qualify this as a verifiable phenomenon. at the very least it begs for real investigation.

I think UFo sightings and so called Aliens are just some creation of the white man to distract people from real issues to focus on some shit that doesn't exist. I always wonder how come these Aliens only pop up in places like America and Europe? you have never heard of villagers in africa talking about seeing some spaceship or some white being. It's funny how Nasa satellites can track down grains of sand and yet somehow miss UFO that are supposedly flying from other galaxies. the logical reason would be that all this UFO propaganda is all earthly and is not from elsewhere like many people want to believe.
And another thing that makes me think Aliens are just earthly creations is that they are of Humanoid form i.e the look as though we share a lot with them. MOST of the UFO sightings happen in South America (Brazil and Mexico more often than not). in fact there are so many UFO sightings in Mexico City that no one is shocked anymore when they hover over the city.

UFOs are reported ALL OVER THE WORLD actually. You haven't read enough about the subject yet. But even if they only came to America and Europe, think about it. Wouldn't you want to observe the smartest and technologically advanced beings (the dangerous ones) on the planet a little more closely than the ones not so?
No one knows where these UFOs/Aliens come from really. Many claim they do know but I'd reserve judgement if I were them/you.
Why shouldn't aliens look like us? The elements are all the same throughout the universe as far as we know, so there may be a basic building block of life that must be followed in order for life as we know it to exist. Certainly there are variations that will occur, but I'm one who believes that when we find life outside this planet it won't be that different from what we know.
The humanoid form might just be the penultimate in lifeform design in the universe if you want to be able to control/maniplulate your surroundings and create devices/tools that advance you as a species. Time will tell.
I disagree. We tend to look at it in this way and thats why most people believe theres no life on nearby "uninhabitable" planets. Uninhabitable for us. As the bottom of the ocean is. There are many animals on this planet that live off of things that are poison to us. Life adapts. I wouldnt be surprised if there were some humanoids but more than likely, theres alot more other types than humanoid types.
Even moreso if you believe in spiritual infinity and multi dimensional life.

UFO sightings occur all over the world and it includes Africa. But they are less largely known in than for example UFO events in the US because the general flow of information tend to go more into Africa than out of Africa. If you are located in Africa, you will have much more chance to hear about a US UFO event than from an African UFO event.
You will have the feeling that there are none or very few UFO observation in Africa because they are not escalated to the media or to the ufology community. The possible reasons are numerous:
Low density of population in vast areas.
Isolated rural communities with few ways of communication.
Developping areas with no electricity, hence lower phone and fax capacity, almost no internet connection, no email. In the US and Europe, email and the Internet have a crucial role in UFO information distribution.
Lower interest, developping countries have much more important issues than the study of the UFO phenomenon.
Developping media in many countries: few newspaper, low reporting capabilities etc.

What I find most troubling is that when a discussion like this takes place at work, I find his type of reply or worse only from my own Black folks.

In the timeframe that Tiamat was to exist there might not have been anything beyond the intelligence of bacteria and lower lifeforms on the planet to start with. Tiamat as I understand was where the asteroid belt is now and at that distance Tiamat might have just been a ball of miles deep ice covering a planetwide ocean. Part of Tiamat is supposed to have become Earth after the collision with another planetary body that came from outside the solar system.
Zecharia Sitchin's books are a great start to get a better grasp of this theory/translation of ancient texts in my opinion.
