What made "that" so good as the fact that he was up so high that he was able to just throw the ball "downward" into the goal. That birthday dunk Gerald Green did wasn't that special to me because he just did a regular dunk

He threw the ball downward toward the rim because he couldn't make it to the rim.

Would've been more sensational if he'd made it to the rim but it was still a good dunk. A little overrated, yes, but that was the announcers fault.
