Well that army dude from Virginia might be General Wesley Clark.

I think John Edwards if interested will make an excellent choice for Vice President.

Joe Biden will be a good choice but can he draw additional votes? I don't know.

Now some dumb fuck here mentioned Corey Booker? THAT IS AN UTTERLY STUPIDchoice. That man can't draw shit. No...

Hillary Clinton? I will say it again. If Hillary Clinton is involed as a canidate in the general presidental election in any form and I MEAN ANY FORM, I'm going to vote STRAIGHT REPUBLICAN PERIOD I don't want Hilary Clinton anywhere near the Presidental race. She wins I vote republican. If Obamma wins and he chooses her as his running mate I will vote Republican PERIOD.

Yeah remember when former Vice President Walter Mondale choose Geraldine Ferraro as his running mate. Yeah, the man lost to I believe Ronald Regan or George Bush(father Bush) badly.

Overall I like John Edwards or Joe Biden to be Obamma's running mate if he wins the nomination.

I would want to say Colin Powell but I don't think 2 black men on a ticket will beat McCain.

iono...i think 2 black creditable men could beat mccain.....Barack has been consistent w/ the war, and even colin messed up on the weapons of mass destruction, he still is respected among the american people...I think it could work..

it's hillarious any of you think obama has a CHOICE of VP. the VP has already been picked by the old democratic regime, it's more than likely gonna have you like WTF??!!

have fun daydreaming though...

...by the way, it's webb.

You're probably right Audio Syndicate--if it stays this tight until the convention the Dem leaders are gonna pick Barack's VP in exchange for ushering him into the candidacy.

Thing is they might roll with Hillary in a muted VP role that keeps Bill sidelined. :(

Seems like that would make all the major players happiest.

If it gets to a brokered convention...which it seems like regardless of what happens, it may go that route.

However, if Hillary gets upstaged in Ohio or Texas, Dean already said in some many words, he is going to ask her to "step aside".

bloomberg for vp = absolutely no way

he's considering running as an independent...and is currently a republican..

no way, no how

Politics makes for strange bedfellows.

Bloomberg is GOP no doubt but he's definitely Democrat compatible.

To me he's like the GOP Lieberman.

This may be a bit immature, but that "swipe" by McCain last night made me think about how important a good VP candidate is for Obama.

I really think that Gen. Wesley Clark should be his choice as it completely kills the notion of experience when it comes to dealing with our current military conflicts. It also would completely neutralize the "war hero" pitch that will come hard from the McCain camp. But, dude has formally endorsed Hillary Clinton so that's not a good look.

Hillary Clinton: Too polarizing and brings baggage...and completely undermine his campaign of change.

John Edwards: The fact that he couldn't even win the state he was born in makes him much less advantageous for the Obama ticket. He actually couldn't manage to win one state. Plus..I'm still not confident about dude after the way that Cheney bent him over in the debates in 04'. Shit was tough to watch. Obama is already getting a majority of Edwards' votes anyway. Although Edwards could do well in the south, he just didn't perform well this year. He only gets a better chance if this comes down to the convention and his 26 delegates actually could make a difference.

Richardson: I actually don't know much about Richardson so I can't really make a statement here

Jim Webb: I also don't know enough bout him to make any real statement

Biden: Biden has been mentioned because of his experience. I agree on this. He is actually extremely informed on all the issues and very intelligent. I actually met Biden in his office back in 03'. in Washington and his knowledge on Middle Eastern Affairs was extremely impressive. He also kept it real in discussing the issues between Powell and the Bush administration well before it became a media story. The problem is that dude is prone to media lapses with his "loose" mouth.

Thoughts?... I think the significant of his VP can't be overstated on any capacity.

I don't think Obama would go with someone who was much older than himself. Age has the potential to be such a big issue this fall why diminish the contrast?

Edwards is still a possibility. Webb stood a better chance before his recent vote on the FISA bill, but he was always a long shot because he's new and Dems need the vote in the Senate. I don't think it's going to be any of the old war horses.

The best bet would be Janet Napolitano, the governor of Arizona. She's relatively young, strongly supports Obama, is popular in her own state, which is a red state, has been mentioned as a possible future presidential candidate before, was apparently considered by Kerry for the VP slot, women who were upset by Clinton's loss would hav good reason to believe that another woman would make the run soon, and, lastly, there would be no better way he could send the message that he's running in all 50 states and expects to remake the EC map.

An Obama/Napolitano ticket could probably win in Arizona today, and that's McCain's home state. There is apparantly a recent poll which shows that Obama would win narrowly by himself.

All that said i admit that Napolitano isn't known nationally, but what's striking about her, from the little I've seen, is that she's exceptionally confident and has a sense of humor.

Shhhhhhh, I got this VP thing rapped up:yes:

Dennis Kucinich in my book would be a great VP. He is the guy who everyone agrees with but nobody was going to vote for because they didn't think he was electable. When it comes to substance, there isn't a better candidate out there than Dennis. Barack and Dennis both know how to captivate a crowd and Dennis's record on the war and every other vote he has cast coincides with the hopes and dreams of most Americans. I say Barack/ Kucinich '08

colin powell could be president,,so if he joined obamas team they
would make a strong adminisrtation

I would want to say Colin Powell but I don't think 2 black men on a ticket will beat McCain.
Colin Powell might work.

I think two Black men will do better than a Black man and a White woman; or a Black Man and a White anything for that matter.

Of course, the phrase "two Black men" sounds too much like "two White men". We need a third option. I always felt Daniel Inouye would be a good choice, but he might be too old now. I've seen Shirley Franklin suggested....

Oprah Winfrey - no.
Ms. Rice - HELL, NO!

Anyone of these guys would silence the crowd of O haters. Here's my list...

1 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Webb
Webb hates Bush's guts and can go toe-to-toe with McCain on war cred.

2 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wesley_Clark
1st in his class at West Point, long ass resume, but endorsed Hilda. He went for Kerry in 2004, and cuz Kerry endorsed O, Wes can switch too. Wants the title so he'd be willing to be VP to get a shot.

3 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evan_Bayh
Bayh is a popular man from the south who ran briefly but couldn't raise enough funds and endorsed Hilda. I heard months ago that she was considering him for VP, but O getting him would be a coup d'etat. "We're all Democrats" blah blah blah.

Choosing a woman/2nd minority as VP would fuck it up. Gotta integrate the White House one election at a time.

I think Mike Bloomberg would be a good V.P. candidate!!! C.P. as Sec of State would lock up the whole thing! Bloomberg on Economy and C.P. (after doing the "My Bad" routine) as the "Statesman"

They didn't really "get rid of him".

Remember the meeting I mentioned in this post with Senator Biden. He said that the Bush administration systematically "depowered" Powell. They would give him false assurances about policy...send him on diplomatic missions internationally...and then arbitrarily negate the policy he put forward to other leaders. Biden said there was a running joke with world leaders to expect the exact opposite of what was promised to Powell.

But it wasn't that Powell was "in" on the manipulation. He was "used" because of his good standing within the world community.

Powell also was angered not only with this..but with the fact that he was also mislead about Iraq. Biden said that if Powell was not a "good soldier", he would have long stepped down from his position during Bush's first term.

If Biden's words are to be taken as close to the truth, Powell was just completely played by the Bush Administration.
Do you know where Biden said this?

I voted Edwards, but O.J. is coming on strong...

Maybe Webb, the reasoning behind a Webb or Clark pick is solid, but I've always favored Edwards.
