I actually don't see the article as even remotely valid from MY perspective. Obama tends to do well with higher income/ better educated people..who also tend to have a better grasp on the issues than most. Supporters of Obama are "excited" about the prospects of a president who unlike our current candidates, is really on a bi-partisan platform to unite both parties and get us past this war, our current standing in the world, etc. I don't think this is irrational exuberance. However, I think people are extremely excited about the possibilities that he "seems" to represent at this point. Comparing his support to a CULT which signifies MINDLESS IRRATIONAL behavior is a bit much..

I really don't give a shit what people think. If Billary uses unscrupulous tactics to win the nomination (like they tried to do with the racial issue), I will not vote for her if she wins the nomination. I will not necessarily vote for a Republican candidate per se, but I will vote for the candidate of my choice, regardless if their name is on the ballot or not (write-in candidate). I have done it before and have no problems doing it again. Its MY vote, and will do with it as I please.

As someone else said, the troops are THERE. To cut off funding without accomplishing a withdrawal costs American lives. I've seen enough soldiers dead from the GOP reluctance to funnel the war's cost to the soldiers.
As for being a centrist, the Gov. of Mississippi called him "the most liberal candidate by far" based on his voting record and urged the GOP base to rally together to repel him as a threat.
He aint THAT centrist.
He voted for the Union Organization Bill, for Alternative Energy Subsidies, for maintaining Judicial Review and Habeas Corpus re: detainees, for Native American funding...
He's not Kucinich or Edwards, but compared to Queen Centrist of the DNC Hillary, he's a far sight more left-wing.
