this shit is sad! gay ass young highschool kids everywhere!!!!!!!! this shit looks like the gay highschool hang out! this place use to be the spot back in like 97 and 98 where a nigga could come thru and meet some big booty country chicks! damn anybody knows what happen to this place? this shit is sad!:smh::smh::smh::smh::smh:
 
So what specifically has happened down there?

We haven't been down there since.......damn......like 1992-1993 and it was NICE! I've been back to Atlanta several times since but mostly spent time up in Alpharetta & Kennesaw visiting friends but didn't get into the city.

It's just dead. It used to be the congregating spot. It was right off of one of the major marta interchange lines and really easy to get to. About two years ago Atlanta decided to start cleaning it up to "revitalize" the area. Problem is they ran everybody off, cleaned it up and never did anything to bring everybody back. :smh:

So now it's still sort of packed, but not with the same people you are used too. Just a bunch of high school kids and lost AUC kids with nothing better to do. Like any typical mall now, but it's just open. :smh:

So are there still "big name" stores there or have they gone the way of small, "unknowns" that usually take over a mall just prior to it shutting down?

Worse. They took half of the mall and made it into some of the lamest fucking clubs you will EVER want to go to. :smh:

The idea was good especially since Buckhead came down with that 2am curfew and Underground could stay open until 5am, but the city regulated and ran the clubs for a minute. :smh: They never really advertised. The parking is fucking horrible (you got to walk at least two city blocks to even get to the nearest club and that shit only hold like 40 cars :angry:) and they never went after the big name dj's. That shit is a joke. :angry:

The stores that are left are more specialty and high priced stores. Remember this shit sits in the middle of Atlanta with the Marta station right next door. :smh: 75% of the people walking around in there can't afford to buy shit so you know what that mean. It's just fucking sad. :smh:
 
shit is sad! i usually go down there to hit the clubs up like house and motions at night! but i went down there for the first time early as hell today! the highschool kids were hanging out and all i saw was gay ass dyke young chicks like 13 and 14yrs huggin and holding hands and shit! then gay ass niggas with the pharell jeans on and bright ass colors dancing and skipping around! nigga i got the fuck outta there! broke out like a rash!

Are the clubs getting better? I was hoping that shit wouldn't last forever. I kept saying I was just catching bad nights, but after about 4 of them bitches in a row I said fuck it. :smh:

I have NEVER seen a packed club at Underground. :smh:

Atlanta University Center. Clark, Spellman, Morris Brown, Morehouse and sometimes Georgia State depending on who you talk to! :lol:

I only out G-State in there because they have a campus right next to underground.

somewhere along the way it seems as if were having the 2 wanna be extremes (guys either being gangster or guys being cissies) and somewhere along the way younger girls stopped looking up to proper women in many regards and started to idolize guys/rappers wearing Jordans talking mad slang or being the other extreme over the top loose.

Its though it has become a caricature of itself which was already a caricature. The recent episode of the Boodocks was funny in too many ways to mention.

I dont even go down there anymore unless i'm going to Walters. After 112, Level 3 and Buckhead died seems like most of the nightlife went with it.

last couple of times i was down there i was there on some business shit...but now at stankonia studios they got a club inside..

it's like right across the street from the ikea..whatever exit that is, i drive it by memory off 75, i think its antone street, but its in NW

but on 1 side its a holiday inn and a waffle house if i remember correctly...

you go across the street and up a little hill and its right across the street from a small office park, brown brick building with a gray door.

at night, you'll definately know you're there because its fancy ass cars in the entire parking lot area and for a few blocks.

I stopped going to the Underground after I found out that you couldn't take your drink out of the Fat Tuesday spot......that was enough for me. I believe that was '98; haven't been back since....
 
I guess underground can be a shock for folks up north who still be asking about it like Freaknik still goes on too, but the venue aint shit but a place to get something to eat and a nice pair of kicks if you are in the area. I do like the night life though. I never had a problem with parking down there. Motions was jumping with no "big" dj or promotion. House get's the backing from the radio and has they lil friday party (too small though imo). Sugarhill I think is the real gem for grown folks. They have a lot of neo/soul and local talent performing regularlly. Chrisette Michelle is on deck for the 16th I think. And at most it's $20. You can carry your drinks between clubs but i think it would really add to the scene if there was some music or a bar in the plaza also. They're also this small island bar that's open but I don't pay that no mind cause that place is open all day and no lie - i went by there for lunch 1 day and came back to underground around 11 that same night and a few people were still hanging around that spot.
 
man i went down there about a year ago with my ole lady...i saw 2 young ass effeminate dudes bust around the corner and look me up and down like a chick with prince eyes...WTF!?

my girl was like "that's just how it is now"...sad b/c i'm from down there just wasn't raised there...damn shame.
