I guess Marvel is just going to ignore Silent War, even though it put Black Bolt on the outs with the whole Inhuman nation! My other question is in the first World War Hulk book it shows Black Bolt standing by Medusa before he fought (I use that word loosely) the Hulk. If I'm not mistaken in the end of Silent War his brother took over and was deemed the king of the Inhumans? And didn't Medusa decide to stand by his brother and not him?

My question is what happen to the Inhumans in that time period to make Black Bolt hook back up with Medusa?

And if the Initiative happen before the World War Hulk and Tony getting possesed by Ultron before that does the Skrull Invasion happen before the Hulk? In the book Tony Stark just recovered from Ultron then he found out about the skrulls.

I'm baffled.

I do think DC does a better job of keeping all the characters on a good timeline. Marvel gave up, thus the Mephisto story that makes no sense what so ever.

Maybe I'm mistaken but I remember when the books in the 90s tried to keep themselves all linked and unified. How Marvel is going it is making old school Youngblood books look like master works.

I wish they would get this together. I grew up on Marvel books and it is a shame that I'm thinking about Xing out the lot because of weak development and seeming of no planning before they write a story (kind of like the outing of Spiderman to 'fix' it with Mephisto).

Don't get me wrong there is some damn good Marvel books (Daredevil, Punisher War Journal, and Captain America to name a few), but the key titles seem to be slacking.

And does anybody have all the issues of Silent War? I wouldn't mind keeping that one on my hardrive for awhile.

DC is okay at points when it comes to timelines. Their biggest problem is juggling dimensions. Marvel has dimensional links down pat. DC doesnt, Hence all the frakkin crisis storylines. SO they are both good at one thing and bad at another.

Like my fav group ever is the Legion of Superheroes. They screwed that timeline up BADLY. But they seem to be doing a great job bringing back the original legion into contemporary books.

DC tends not to Mephisto their books.

Thank you for that. I'll stp complaining about timelines now...

Thank you!

From the writer of Silent War

David Hine said:
Unfortunately there will be no follow up to Silent War.

I was aware of the Hulk/Black Bolt fight and we did consider having Black Bolt stagger in with sticking plaster all over his face, but thought better of it.

I think the wrap-up to Silent War will occur in Secret Invasion. I suspect there was a breakdown in editorial amidst Black Bolt appearances this past year and in the end Hine's idea got scrapped.

I agree because they had Black Bolt and the Inhumans sitting on the shelf for a few years then all of a sudden he has 3 important rolls in the same year.
Everybody wanted to use him but none of them talked about it with each other.

He was in Secret War and lost control of the Inhumans
He was in the Illuminati and It was found out that he was a Skrull.
He was in WWH and got the beating of his life.

So what I am thinking is that The Real Back bolt was never in the Illuminati, it was always the Skrull. And the Real Black Bolt got his ass kick by the Hulk for nothing...lol
But that don't really make a lot of sense.

We'll see whats true and whats not soon enough .:yes::yes:

I think the whole Silent War will go down as a damn good book that won't matter a bit.

Do you guys remember a two part series that Marvel released called 'Conspiracy'? It was a book that questioned the whole foundation of the Marvel Universe saying that it was all a scam. That key players actually controled the fate of the whole superhuman community. It was a damn good book that questioned the Fantastic Four getting there powers, Daredevil, and even if the United States could end the Hulk problem if it wanted to, but choose not to because they needed to fund a military. It was a true gem of a book that had some earth shattering conclusions on key heroes, but Marvel choose to ignore it.

Reason why I bring that up is that I don't think we'll see an conclusion to some of the hanging 'what the f-' stories out there. If the publishing staff do not know how to conclude a story they just choose to ignore it.

So don't be shocked if the Secret Invasion lead into another 'super event' with no end in sight. And the only silence in Silent War is that we will never know what could of been.

To bad. It was a truly brave story that challenged status quo...

Has anybody read 'Conspiracy'? And is there anybody out there that has 'Conspiracy'? I would love to have a copy of that.

Thanks

Yeah I read it. It basically postulated that Police needed crooks. But then all of a sudden you had people with super powers out to change the world, btu the worlds movers and shakers wanted nothing to change.

So they "created" the supervillain to keep the heroes off the real truth.

I read the spiderman issues, was very brave storyline.

Somebody is staying UP on these links. I've came across at least 3 sets of the complete series today, and I'll be damned if they all ain't been deaded. Some only got a lifespan of a few days:smh:

I got alot of these old books but not scanned links.
But if you want some good reading, and if you can get your hands on them, X-Men 120-200 is solid.

AVENGERS INITIATIVE #9

I'm really trying not to like the Initiative because they stole my idea i had 15 years ago.
(Goverment sanctioned upstart super team, with established heros as the teachers. I stole it from the New Mutants, though...lol)

But this is building up to be a pretty good book. If everybody isn't dead after this issue.

What happened to Alpha Flight? is that still being published?

Co-sign. That MVP clones is off the chain killin folks in this one.

damn why did luke's wife have to do that shit like he don't have enough drama already:angry::angry::smh:

So if you register do you have to make your secret identity public record? Is that why everybody is against it?

If the Mighty Avengers never arrest the New Avengers when they see them dosen't that kill the vibe of them being Outlaws?
They could have arrested them after WWH, The New avengers Annual 2, or Mighty Avengers 8.
What are they hiding from now? SHEILD?
But isn't Luke Cage's baby a skrull?

From what I understand. Registering means that your Identity is known to the authorities, not the public at large. That Is unless your name happens to Richards or any relation thereof. ^^
