9PM EST History Channel.

Tonight The History channel is doing a "What If.." Style show abotu what the Earth would be like WITHOUT US. It's a great take on many things. FOr me it proves that Archaeologists.. most of em anyway. Are stuffy old codgers.

I've long held that Ancient civilizations were as advanced or even more so than us. But when the world changes so rapidly and Earth reclaims her lost areas. Things get covered and buried.

This show only shows us 50 years into the future. Now imagine a 10,000 year old civilization. How much do you think would be left after all that time.

Fire. Although it's nice to have, meet your clothing and shelter needs before you consider fire. When building a fire, remember that you'll need heat, oxygen and fuel. Your heat source may initially be matches and lighters but over time, you'll use this resource up. Better options are flint and sparkers. For fuel, don't limit yourself to wood. Consider other options like bundles of grass or scavenged wood products.

The discovery of the underwater remnants off the coast of Japan (which I know you're familiar with) have been speculated to be close to 10,000 years old (maybe older). But what is also interesting is that there is some suggestions that maybe that underwater structure is an ancient port.

I was going to post this also, but thanks for beating me to it, Smoke. That list is a good way to gauge what you may be prepared for. My dad raised us to survive.. and we're pretty good at it. I love the finer things in life, but if I have to do without I can.. and very easily.

At this stage, I'm not as fully prepared as I want to be. Just from looking at the list of skills you need to have I could only manage to do 1 out of 5 :smh:

Give you a hint as to what to do JUST IN CASE, some shit pops off.

Canned vegies only... Jack or appropriate Energy bars.
Vitamins are essential if you are not around a ton of fauna.
Raid a bookstore and get books on indigenous, plants and animals.
Find a secure location, make sure to jack dark colored curtains and candles.

Crowbar is ESSENTIAL... I repeat ESSENTIAL.
It can be a lightweight weapon and open shit up.

Car lot is a good place to go and get energy, in the form of car batteries.
Get Power cords, extension cords from stores and VIOLA, you got light.
We used to power house speakers in car trunks this way, in philly back in the day.
If you know how to use a gun carry nothing larger than a rifle, shotgun, or pistol. Maintain 'em.

Light clothing makes travelling easier.

WORD MY FAVORITE BAND IS RAMSTEINN, even though I don't understand their shit(most of the Albums are in the German language), it's that voice that always attracted me to that band. Dude's voice sounds wicked as hell.

I remember listening to them on the Triple X Soundtrack(Vin Diesel Joint)

I heard one song from them and the songs riff was crazy. I don't remember the name but from what I heard i liked it.
