Lupe Bypasses Obama, "I Want Hillary To Win"

His logic is the same as yours, he's just come to a slightly different conclusion. He finds a woman president to be a better symbol, than a half white/half black man.

So he doesn't believe in voting yet he wants a Clinton win? Makes sense.:hmm:

Obama doesn't impress him but even if Clinton wins and does nothing in office, it'll be phenomenal for the world? Get the fuck outta here.

Wow, way to totally miss the point. He's saying that her being a woman alone speaks volumes for the nation. You can't honestly think he wants her to do nothing can you?

:smh:

Dude, look at the WORLD. Man are always higher up. No matter where. In many places, women are literally objects. Property.

It's totally understandable, for someone to find a woman president, to be a bigger push for our country socially, than a half WHITE MAN.

That's what I'm saying, and I'd guess his thinking is the same. It's fine to disagree, but you are all acting like he raped your mother or something.

I wasn't throwing out insults, I was being honest. You people acting like a different opinion is a personal attack towards you are pathetic.

Look closely and you will see a couple of Muslim and Islamic countries there.

I repeat a woman winning it here while progressive is not as progressive as a "mulatto" (as you call it) winning it.

Wow, way to totally miss the point. He's saying that her being a woman alone speaks volumes for the nation. You can't honestly think he wants her to do nothing can you?

:smh:

You tell me. I can't tell what he "wants".

He wants a Clinton win but doesn't "want" to vote?

lol, I didn't say mulatto. But anyway, take a trip, no, watch any documantary on the life of women in the middle east. They are property. Beaten for the crime of being raped.

:smh:

No, I think you miss the point. A man of African ancestry being president doesn't speak for the nation in the same capacity, after centuries of slavery and another century of Jim Crow laws and oppression? After the U.S.A. being the birth-crib of White Supremacy?

..And to make matters worse, he can't even give an honest political reason as to why he thinks it would "speak volumes for the nation" any more than Obama winning would?

Some black folks are for the people, and other's aren't. Guess which one Lupe Fiasco is.

Obviously. Doesn't make much sense to me, but damn, why you guys gotta get pissed off about it? That's all I'm saying. You guys are getting angry over a quote you found on the internet.

The internet ain't that serious.

I think Hillary will set an example for women all around the world and hopefully effect some change, as opposed to another man pushing for agendas and pushing policies," Lupe said. "I think even if she don't do anything, just the statement that it makes--that the United States is run by a women--would be so phenomenal for the world.":hmm::hmm::hmm:

http://www.sohh.com/articles/article.php/13351

I thought lupe was smarter than the average rapper. Apparently he's just as stupid, just in a different way.

Also, a woman for the sake of a woman pushing policies than a man, just to have something different is not necessarily better, nor a viable reason to elect a woman into the office.

Especially one who is probably closer to the Bush's than all other candidates.

He also said: "I'm not voting for anybody," Lupe told SOHH. "I don't believe in voting on that level. But I want Hillary [Clinton] to win,"

When the fuck did he start doing political commentary? Please stick to rappin'. :smh::smh:

Whatever man, you are just incapable of, for the samke of an argument, looking at an issues from another perspective.

I see why many would find obama as a sign of progress, him being HALF black, but I personally think that a women president would be a better choice, as woman are looked down on globally. Take issue with how you think blacks are treated in the states, but the status of women is pretty global, regardless of ethnicity.

Totally understand that they are treated like garbage elswhere.
But it is what it is though.

Lupe still has let me down everytime he seems to get the chance.

One poster said it well, if you're not voting STFU Lupe.

I refuse to have a discussion about who've had it worse. That's not the issue or reason I replied.

I replied for a very simple reason: I find Lupe Fiasco to be a bitch who doesn't have his priorities straight. He's a Black man. From what I know, Lupe is not a woman. Literally speaking of course.

It's simple. Some blacks are FOR THE PEOPLE, and other's aren't. Lupe has that right, but when the fight is over, he better not say he was on our side. Period.

Ahhh. True to some degree, but he is missing the whole point.

Yall mad at him because he didnt support a black candidate?everybody has theyre reasons why they chose the person they voted for.

Nah just mad because he doesn't realize the effect of having a black president.

An African American holding the country's highest political position in the same country that enslaved them a couple hundred years back is more progressive than a woman who was never enslaved there.

While Lupe is entitled to his opinion, it doesn't take away from the fact that he didn't put much thought into it.

What do you guys expect coming from a rapper??? LOL Kidding.

If Barack becomes president, you will see a significant change in black men period. The brotha has me believing on a different level even though he hasn't won the democratic nominee yet.

I don't understand voting for someone because they look like you. I just don't get it. I would never vote for someone because they happen to be more closely related to me. Fuck the issues, I vote for whoever shares the most aesthetic traits. Makes no sense.

Hmmm. The people. Funny.

Aesthetic traits?

Voting for someone because they look like you?

More closely related?

Do you honestly think that's what it's all about? Are you really that simple minded?

Whatever. Discussion over.

Well obviously if all you can do is bash someone else's opinion without giving your owns. I'm out. Too many people who can't think for themselves.

MOZAMBQUE has a FEMALE PM

and who can forget SIRLEAF of LIBERIA

and who can forget CHANDRIKA KUMARATUNGA of Sri Lanka?

No different than what half the people here think. I mean ,a black person in office means so much because to you it seems progressive. Well the same can be said of women. Blacks were able to vote before them.

Not historically true. The white male was the head of household. He voted on behalf of the family. There was no inherit reason to extend the vote to every person living in america. Most men and women married. So it was effectively one vote per household.

Next.

Women got the right to vote in the 20s. Meanwhile, blacks were subjected to the Poll tax which prevented Blacks from voting until the 60s.

So from day 1, whites including white women had a political voice as a member of their household. Their voice became individual in the 20s.

Black didn't receive a true political voice until the 24th amendment of the 60s.

I don't understand voting for someone because they look like you. I just don't get it. I would never vote for someone because they happen to be more closely related to me. Fuck the issues, I vote for whoever shares the most aesthetic traits. Makes no sense.

Hmmm. The people. Funny.

You and all the "I'm not voting for Obama because he's black" bunch are all a bunch of fucking idiots
Most people that are voting for Obama are doing so because they like the man and agree with his platform
Did you see all those white faces behind him during his speech last night?
They're obviously not backing him just because he's black
Why can't a black person vote for Obama because they agree with him AND because he's black?
If you're scared, just say you're scared and move the fuck aside because this thing is real whether kneegrows like you want it to be or not

Obama '08

No body in Obama's family tree was ever a slave. So that kinds of moots that point. Now if Obama had an African-American family tree that was slaves(meaning his black history dated back to 400 years ago in the USA) then that statement would have made more sense. Stop thinking with your eyes vote for who you think will do the best job. None of the major candidates have really impressed me so far. Obama and Hilary have the same exact agenda.
