Porn or Erotica

I like both - each serves a different purpose. To me, erotica is more for enterainment purposes...and porn is more for, er "stimulation"

Really? I guess it depends on the context. I'm thinking of erotica as the "mental" stuff...like literature - short stories and poetry...you know, the Punany Poets and stuff...the illusion and mystery...innuendo and fantasy...which is all enjoyable, but I won't necessarily get off on that...but when I DO want to get off, I'd go to porn first (I like the same kind, btw), and it definitely serves its purpose :D

Im shocked..I figured the overwhelming response would be Erotica....hmmmmm intresting:cool:

Based on the definitions, I am going to go with "erotica."

Erotica (from the Greek Eros—"desire") or "curiosa," are works of art, including literature, photography, film, sculpture and painting, that deal substantively with erotically stimulating or sexually arousing descriptions. Erotica is a modern word used to describe the portrayal of the human anatomy and sexuality with high-art aspirations, differentiating such work from commercial pornography.[1] "Curiosa" is generally used to refer to erotica and pornography as discrete, collectible items, usually in published or printed form.

The word derives from the Greek πορνογραφία (pornographia), which derives from the Greek words πόρνη (pornē, "prostitute" and pornea, "prostitution"), and γράφω (graphō, "I write or record," derived meaning "illustration," cf. "graph"), and the suffix -ία (-ia, meaning "state of," "property of," or "place of"), thus meaning "a written description or illustration of prostitutes or prostitution." Pornography or porn is the depiction of explicit sexual subject matter for the purposes of sexual excitement.
