The maturity dynamic of the BGOL community

In light of recent posts and threads, it seems that the maturity differential between BGOL and SOL continues to expand. In my view SOL, though created primarily for the female audience, has invariably attracted the more mature male members of the greater BGOL community, whereas the main board continues to produce and nurture knuckleheads. What are your thoughts on this? I'm looking for opinions from all points of view.

Naturally. Girls have always been more mature than boys even since we were in school.
We don't generally engage in the ego based posturing that many men do. That seems to be a large part of the problem on the main board.

I agree with that. Sports, pics, music downloads, and some of the movies. I know that the mantra of BGOL is post pics and talk shit, but what happens when the shit talking become abusive and detrimental?

Here we have about 25 active posters as oppose to over a thousand on the main board. So if there are 20 people with valid mature opinions they tend to get lost in the flood of immaturity and foolishness.

I believe that people as a collective are idiots and you get a group of idiots together and they say idiotic shit. The good thing is that idiots tend to shy away from intelligence so as long as the idiots don't organize and come over here as a collective then they will stay away.

Those are my feeling as well. The main board is funny, has some great movies + music, and ofcourse porn so what's not to love about that , but the interesting threads that encourage some thought and discussion tend to get bombarded with dumb shit and what irks me the most internet beef- wtf? I get online to be entertained and just like I don't expect to kickbox my remote control every time I want to watch TV, I don't want to read all that e-thug bs. For me, SOL is a condensed version of the non-porn grown folks topics that got drowned sometimes on the main board. Hence I post much more freely here. It's not a gender thing for me really, more a maturity level as Aristotle mentioned.

Very true. But what you have to remember is that BGOL is advertised as a porn board. So the majority of the visitors to this site come looking for porn. That's going to attract alot of men who are immature. Combine that with anonymity and you have people acting like jackasses just cuz there are no reprecussions for their posts.

SOL is a good idea, but there were other forums on BGOL where maturity thrived. (Business forum). But, the only drawback to those other forums is that the topics are limited to specific categories. On SOL, the topics aren't limited as with BGOL, but here the women are encouraged to participate a bit more. And, it attracts the more mature members of the board because any man recognizes that women have more to bring to the table that just sex.

EDIT: oh, and it's not a gender issue. women can be immature too, just in different ways.

I haven't really read the rape thread yet. I don't click on every thread but that's how i originaly felt about the board. I came here and stayed just to have fun, crack some jokes, laugh,post my opinion if i felt it was important enough to post and give props for a good thread. I know that it's some real misogynist on the board but what do you expect from a porn board. I'd say 30% of the people on this board are here because they love women and black women especially the other 70% are here because they have some real issues to work out and their views on women are mangeld, immature, and inappropriate. I don't know what it was that made them that way I think people take things too personally and they fail to realize that that's the game of life. Take a few blows and a L or two and keep it moving. Less to do with GENDER and more to do with the stricter rules, the mods here not being scared bitches when it comes to getting rid of troublemakers (Though neither of the three were responsible for the fuckery...well, we'll let that go), and the presence of women. Why put up with that sillyness? Simply put the offenders on ignore. Just click their name, then click view public profile then add them to your ignore list. Also you can simply not respond to them they will get the message. You'll be glad you did.

Aristotle did you consider the effects of asking such a question? If you are complaining about the actions, and maturity level of some of the newer members, don't you think they will see this and then become even more objectionable? When you give people a list of thing that irritate you, and they enjoy irritating you then they are probably going to do all those things on the list. Femme should delete this thread it's not healthy for the site in general. I'm willing to bet 98% of the people in this thread came to the site because of the main board, so what's the deal with playing the SOL is better than BGOL thing. Remember with out the main board there's wouldn't be a SOL. I say let's not play that game, the fastest way to start a war is to put a wall between people. I figure every body should live on both boards. Or if you're willing to go thought the effort, and it's quite minimal you can go register your own domain, and start your own site, pay for your own hosting, and bandwidth. Spend the time developing a community...etc..etc.
