X there is a large divide between "truth" and "ignorance" that thread was more ignorance than truth.

Honestly, reading some of these threads on BGOL has really tainted how I look at men. I kind of wish I never read alot of it. Now every time I am talking to a man I feel like he is thinking the type of things that are posted here. Very bad.

I can"t believe that anybody would take internet e-thugery seriously or any of the comments of these anonymous people as truth or as any indication of how they would react in real life. I think at times people just post things to see the reaction. Having read a lot of threads on my time here i don't let internet interaction infringe on how I interact with real people in the real world

About 20 years ago, my wife (we were dating at the time) was raped at gunpoint by a man who pulled her into a abandonded building in midtown Manhattan at 5pm during the summer. I later found out through detectives that several people saw the initial confrontation but did nothing (although she called for help). What she went through, I couldn't imagine. When she told me (two days later) her first reaction was that I wouldn't want to be with her anymore! I took her to the doctor and called the police. All the initial and subsequent tests came back negative, but the guy was never caught. The one thing that stuck in my mind was that I felt that I should have been there to protect her.
These young kids that give stupid responses to adult questions are just that......KIDS! Many more men have been in this type of situation than care to admit and they even go to counselling to help them both heal. I can tell you from personal experience that it made all the difference in the world that I stood beside her and I reap the benefits of my decision every day. These kids don't understand or don't care what this does to a woman emotionally and they're just selfish.
