I want to know man...

Are you ladies being honest or politically correct?

From my experience, I have noticed that many light-skin women tend to be more attracted to darker skin brothas for that reason alone: darker skin!

Now, in regards to dark/brown/caramel skin females, they are hypnotized by the light-skin brothas w/ "good hair."

Some of you may disagree, but I have come to accept this as truth.
I have dated many light-skin females who dated me on the principle that I have dark brown skin and that is their preference. I believe that many Black women have too many self-image/esteem problems in terms of skin complexion and I believe they are constantly trying to get away from being darker, whereas light-skin women are looking to prove their blackness by dating the brothas who themselves are dark.

WE BLACKS FOLKS HAVE PROBLEMS!

My two cents.:hmm:

I admit I have been strongly attracted to darker women in the past, but I just love all ranges of brown, from light to dark. They all are beautiful. Meant to post this in the Poems thread...

HARLEM SWEETIES

Have you dug the spill
Of Sugar Hill?
Cast your gims
On this sepia thrill:
Brown sugar lassie,
Caramel treat,
Honey-gold baby
Sweet enough to eat.
Peach-skinned girlie,
Coffee and cream,
Chocolate darling
Out of a dream.
Walnut tinted
Or cocoa brown,
Pomegranate-lipped
Pride of the town.
Rich cream-colored
To plum-tinted black,
Feminine sweetness
In Harlem’s no lack.
Glow of the quince
To blush of the rose.
Persimmon bronze
To cinnamon toes.
Blackberry cordial,
Virginia Dare wine—
All those sweet colors
Flavor Harlem of mine!
Walnut or cocoa,
Let me repeat:
Caramel, brown sugar,
A chocolate treat.
Molasses taffy,
Coffee and cream,
Licorice, clove, cinnamon
To a honey-brown dream.
Ginger, wine-gold,
Persimmon, blackberry,
All through the spectrum
Harlem girls vary—
So if you want to know beauty’s
Rainbow-sweet thrill,
Stroll down luscious,
Delicious, fine Sugar Hill.

-Langston Hughes

Nuff respect to Sugar Hill--still got a lot of love for that neighborhood.

@ DaleMabry: I have always loved this poem! Many brotha's have heard of Langston Hughes, but not all know his work...I am impressed;)

Straight up Apophis I truly have no preference for the tone of a brother's skin. Like i said before if you and I can hold intelligent convo then its on. If you can handle the fact that i may come across as a little... well a lot blunt and straightforward then thats one hurdle crossed.
I get approached by brothers and I don't look at the tone of skin but I prefer to look at the smile he's wearing. As "corny" as it may sound its the truth. Why do darker brothers approach me more? I dunno. I like to think its my witty charm :) you know my pleasant demeanor . I mean really at the end of the day the tone of your skin does NOT make us who we are.So who really cares. A lil line from Haile Selassie WAR speech
"That until the color of a man's skin is of no more significance than the color of his eyes"
