This a porn board, but I had to ask, do you ever have that moment where you're listening to "that one gospel" song, and you start thinking, and ya hands go up in the air, eyes closed, shouting thank you Lord. This morning I heard this gospel song called "live in me jesus" by Rev Calvin Bernard Rhone. If you had heard it, you'd have fell down on your knees just like I did, just started praying, felt some tears in my eyes ! My life is good, but it could be so much better. My struggle is not being close to my family. I normally don't post about Jesus, but I "felt it" this morning. Anybody ever go through this before. Brother had a moment with the Lord !

Actually yes. There is a live medley that Vanessa Bell Armstrong does. I have loved her voice since I was in my teens. Very, very strong and chilling. She sings with conviction and that's what I love in all music genres, anybody who shows conviction through their music.
Anyway the medley is of Peace Be Still/Nobody/Real. It's awesome.
I am not religious but I love Gospel music and I love Christmas music even though I don't celebrate that. I can have an appreciation for good music when I hear it.

I do...I just have moments where I have to pause and praise and thank the Lord, because despite I am not in the best of situations right now, I am still here.
I actually have a play list on my itunes I listen to almost every morning, I had "addictive love" on repeat this morning...Like Femme, I am really not religious (anymore), but I recognize that there is a higher power, and w/o it I wouldn't be here.
I'm a gospel music fanatic anyway, but I have 2 songs that just does it for me, and every time I hear them I cry or it causes me to just stop and be thankful.

One Saturday afternoon I was getting dressed. Doing my make up which, at that time would take me a good 25 minutes (I was an expert MAC artist.
These days, it only takes me 5 minutes, Joe.

Anyway, as this song played on the radio, I was overwhelmed with raw emotion. It was like Yolanda was hurting so bad... so alone and so disgusted.... So pissed that her life was so jacked up. So sad things were not going her way. But then, in an humbling instant, she just asked God to help & guide her. To envelop her mind, body and spirit... To allow her to forgive & let go. To help her to make it thru the pain. Basically, to Open up her heart.
Hearing Yolanda sing "my story" just tore me down. Bad. I started sobbing uncontrollably. And then my mom, a life-long Baptist, came and held my big, grown 26-year-old monkey ass like a baby on that cold-ass bathroom floor. She rocked me in her arms on her bosom and consoled me. She just kept repeating, "Everything is gonna be alright." Make-up and snot was everywhere.
I also get chills when I hear the old hymn Great is thy Faithfulness. The words to this song are so deep for me. They ring truer and truer every time I hear them. God is faithful and just. He provides all of my needs, even when I don't deserve them. Everyday he bestows new mercy upon me.

My father had a massive stroke last year. We didn't know if he would live or die. My sister and I constantly playing the Anthony Hamilton song "Pass Me Over". I really love that song and it helped us get through a really rough time. I listen to it whenever someone I know passes away. That song gives me a lot of comfort.
I'm mostly an avoider of Gospel music because I know the emotions will get to me when I hear the message, however there's ONE song that I carry with me all the time, it's always in rotation on my iPod. "Holy One" by Tramaine Hawkins. It's an oldie but a goodie. I was in a dance company in college and this song was one of our most favorite and popular pieces, so we performed to it often. Each time I stopped and really listened to the words and the emotion in Tramaine's voice I would have a "Gospel Moment". Just the part where she repeats at the end "I'll never let you down... noooo more, never" still gets me misty around the eye region, to this day.
So that's the only song I will allow myself to listen to, only because it holds such good memories with my old dance company.
