I'm a Black film animator on the come up. Anybody with lead to venture capital to cartoons about us by us...E-me please.

I have been studying animation for 5 years and recently finished animation for PUMA and BMW. When are we going start making our own products? Let's push each other up...instead of down. Help me get the money to create this franchise and make all our future sons and daughters, Princes and Princesses. Help me get the cash to make to make this money or lead me to it. There is a LARGE market for it. I wish I could draw. I want to do a cartoon about adventures a little AA girl has everytime she visits her grandparents.....I can vision it, but I cant draw it I've writtem 6 different stories so far...But I just cant draw what I want....

Disney has never been sensitive to people of African decent, even less so than other Hollywood animators. I read somewhere that 30% of the movie tickets are purchased by Black folks, and we are about 12 to 15 percent of the total US population (I believe that is an undercount). Several weeks ago someone was complaining that the economic boycott that was called on by Reverend Sharpton and others was going to hurt the box office of American Gangster. The only way we can affect white folks consciously is through the dollar. That’s all they understand.

Takes some seed money. She said 17,000 complained about no African-Americon. characters.. If each person complained paid me one dollar, I believe I can get it done. If those people pay $19 per DVD when it hits the shelves we are talking around half a million.


I could produce a 10 or 20 minute short or pilot so a large investor can back me.

One dollar per person (as a stock/investor) That's about $ 17,000 for a DVD sold at $19. per unit sold one each would be about half a million.

I have been studying for 5years. I did my second freelance project out of my home and I made $30,000 last month. I'm willing to expense 10,000 toward this project. Hate to go it alone.

If any body know investors get at me. Here's a project I just completed last week for PUMA.

Ideas come easy for me. Actually I have a harder time turning off the ideas than turning them on.

Based on this woman's video, I have a whole new idea of what the story can be. I'm going to buy an laptop tomorrow so I can relax and write it out while I'm on vacation 'til the new year. I live in Buffalo NY but do stuff all over via the net...including singapore, france, spain, germany and brazil.

I want to do something base one what she said but I have had idea in my head for eons.

Anyway, here's the end of the bargain that I offer. 5 years of study, 20 thousand in computer equipment, the lastest software, hard work and dedication...maybe 6 months of my own time. Maybe 10K of my one money.

But looking for backers.

I like this thread but asking random peeps to 'give you money so I can make a famous black princess cartoon' shit you can kill it. It's gonna take African Americans HARD work and focus to get this done. Look at BET, instead of spending money on getting this accomplished, they'd rather coon around and make Hell Dates and shit. scarletrain22, you're on the right track. You don't need to learn how to draw. Just create a great concept and write. Networking is your most important tool man. By networking, a little luck and prayer, you'll meet some cartoonists. Work on your pitch, get a literary agent and send your submissions to companies that will accept it.

I've been writing a sci-fi/fantasy action/adventure for ten years now. I have Black Princesses and Queens in it. I'm an artist too. I draw them from time to time. I'm not rushing though. For a long time I did not know what I wanted to be in life. Bout two years ago I figured it out and so I'm going to school to get in film. I wanna be a director. If I can get into a posistion where I can make my manuscripts, my books and screenplays, sketches and ideas a reality then I'll do whatever it takes to get there. George Lucas was about 7 years old or so when he came up with the idea for Star Wars. I also have ideas I came up with around that age too but making that dream a reality takes time. All you creative peeps need is a little inspiration, determination and perseverance. Keep your integrity too. Keep your self-respect and be honorable about how you go about this because what goes around, comes around. Don't be stealing mothafuckas ideas and shit. Just keep your focus man.
