Man, that TO vs Moss topic really got me thinking on some other stuff. One of the biggest debates lately has been who is the better quarterback, Tom Brady or Peyton Manning? I personally think Brady. Brady has had average receivers for most of his career and now that he finally has quality players, he is putting up number never seen before. Brady has always been more clutch and is a much better post season player. Manning has great receivers and has been good his whole career as well evidenced by his record breaking numbers. But in my opinion, Brady has always done more with less and has 2 more rings than Manning. I respect Peyton Manning a lot, don't get me wrong. But Brady is the best quarterback of this generation.

Tommy cool is the man, but i'ma have to go with Peyton. Give Peyton the Pats and give Tom the Colts, see what happens...

Look how braylon and winslow make anderson look in cleveland!!!

Confidence is everything for a QB.

Give a competent QB options and protection and you will have a great QB.

Shit look at romo!!!!!!!!!

Think romo would be romo without options and a team?

Think he would be romo in ......................

MIAMI????

I would go with BRADY, cause he showed if he has options he does better stat wise, and without options he has how many rings???????????????????????

I would pick peyton. I think that the only reason the pats have been dominating ova the colts in the past was simply because they had NO defense. I mean its been pretty even steven lately becuz they picked up sum d. Peyton could do the same thing if he were in new england.

I'm a Michigan man but Peyton is the Jordan of football.

Both these polls (Moss) is a clear indication that BGOL is a young man's game.

They were there last year, how come they didn't "make" Charlie Frye look this good?

So how come Moss and Jerry Porter didn't "make" Kerry Collins look good?

How come Isaac Bruce, Torry Holt, Randy McMichael, Drew Bennett, and Stephen Jackson don't "make" Gus Frerotte look good?

Of course Brady's stats are better then Peyton's this year, I mean he only has 3 #1 receivers on the field at all times!! As far as rings go, let's go ahead and credit the NE defense for those.

Stallworth and Welker are not number 1 wrs. Reggie Wayne is. Dallas Clark is a great TE. To me Brady vs Manning is the second coming of Montana vs Marino. Stats vs Rings.

What kind of question is that?? Brady's won 80% of his regular season starts and 85% of his playoff starts (all with inferior offensive talent for the most part). Not even close. He's one of the greatest winners in sports history (with excellent lifetime passing stats as well).

:smh:

Brady is the smarter QB. Brady has a better TD to INT ratio than Manning. Manning is however, more aware though as he gets sacked less and and doesn't fumble as often. I would say that Manning knows everything going on the field but Brady is always calm and performs well under prssure while Manning doesn't.

Stallworth wasn't a #1 in Philly? :hmm:

Welker, ok was a #2 in MIA, so he has starting talent playing against #3 CBs.

Reggie Wayne is #1? Debateable.

Dallas Clark is not great, Manning and that offense make him look good. When you mention the top TEs here's my list:

1. Antonio Gates
2. Tony Gonzales
3. Kellen Winslow Jr.
4. Jason Witten
5. Jeremy Shockey
6. Todd Heap
7. Alge Crumpler (if he has someone throwing to him)
8. Dallas Clark

To me Brady vs Manning is the second coming of Montana vs Marino. Stats vs Rings.

But Brady and Manning both have at least one ring.

Marino's stats are nuts compared to Montana's. Talk about a QB doing it with no talent around him.

Homeboy the Pats weren't always this good, I mean they were decent from the moment they replaced Bledsoe with Brady and Brady took it from there

To FingersXG:
You may be right about Clark, but not Wayne. Wayne has done more than good enough of a job without Marv. I think that when Marv returns, he'll be the number 2 behind Wayne, kinda like what happened with Issac Bruce and Torry Holt. But yea, Martino was a beast. he did it with poor defenses, average WRs and little to no running game. If he could have played with any other team, he may have 10 rings.

Manning NO QUESTION. Peyton is a way more accurate thrower than Brady, dont believe me look at the type of catches Moss has to make on some of those Brady throws.

Two-minute drill: Toss-up, Brady slightly.

For the argument, look what Brady has done with less, the Pats defense was very very good those years. There defense was a lot better than Indy's. Hence, the superbowl ring difference.

Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne -> you dont see them diving for balls very often, or having to run extra hard, cuz most of the time the ball is right on the money.

Manning reads defenses way better as well.

the pats have always had a really good defense thats something manning didn't have until 13 games into last season i don't think anybody could dispute that.

i don't think its a good comparison two totally different types of teams both QB would thrive on the others team. Not so much a knock on Brady but an observation he wasn't asked to do to much just manage the game don't lose it for them, where as Manning was asked to come from behind alot because the defense was so shitty. Both are great players on two good teams :dunno:

people giving brady the nod keep forgetting football is a team sport if your special teams let you down or your defense isn't making stops it would be a miracle if you won anything let alone a superbowl.

Do not get it twisted the Pats were a top ten defense every year they one a superbowl i don't ever recall Brady being down by 28 points and having to mount a comeback Manning has done that on several occasions. Most of Brady's two minute drills were to kick a field goal or score 6 points.

neither one of those honkies are shit without all the niggas helping them.....i say mcnabb, culpepper or mcnair(in the right system).

Actually, Montana's stats are far superior, based on averages. Marino threw a shitload more passes per season.

Yes Marino threw more passes, he HAD to.

Marino career .0502 tds/attempt

Montana career .0506 tds/attempt

1999-Tennessee 19 Indianapolis 16
2000-Miami 23 Indianapolis 17
2002-New York 41 Indianapolis 0
2003-New England 24 Indianapolis 14
2004-New England 20 Indianapolis 3
2005-Pittsburgh 21 Indianapolis 18

In his playoff loses, Peyton has a career QB rating of 55.8. Yeah, chalk those loses up to that defense. Did you even watch the games? Way more accurate thrower? Reads defense way better? Based on what? Did Tom Brady get to spend his entire career with Marvin Harrison as a security blanket?

When did Peyton ever come back from a 28 point deficit? Much less 'several times'

give me a break on this one. brady's having a great year, mostly because of moss. manning's been great for most of his career. although the argument can be made it's because of harrison.

Tom Brady, this is the first year he's had a true number one receiver. His super bowls speak volumes.

Manning had Harrison since day 1 and Wayne the past 7 seasons if you want to play that game. Judge the men for what they did for the teams they play for. Peyton Manning had a 2 year head start on Tom and Tom passed him up years ago.

I'm not a Patriots fan but what I like about Brady is that dude remains more calm under pressure than any QB I've seen since Montana. All QB's will nut up if they gettin hit enough but Brady keeps his shit under wraps when most other QB's start tossin' up pick 6's.

I have mad respect for Peyton especially when he's on the money, but I'd have to go with Brady.

Deion Branch isn't a number one receiver? Tell that to Seattle, who treats him like one whenever he is healthy. Branch is also the reason why Brady has two Superbowl MVP's instead of three. Plus, you have to give some of the credit for those superbowl rings to Vinatieri. The Pats won ALL of their superbowls by three points.

Brady is good, but he didn't become excellent until he got Randy Moss, and yes, Wes Welker. Manning is a student of the game and is always working to improve. Brady has ALWAYS had excellent protection and a solid D. Manning's protection is faulty at times. Just look at this season.

Not to mention the fact that his receiving core has been marred by injury, and the Colts D is always up and down. At the end of the day, Manning will own all the passing records and at least one superbowl.

^But Vinatieri was in FG range because of Brady's passes. When the game is on the line and you are in postion to kick a field goal, your suppose to make it. Vinatieri gets too much credit. But both Manning and Brady will be in the top 10 QBs to ever play the game when their careers are over.
