I really hope I get some serious responses to this thread. I think it would be cool to share our hairstyles and I want to see what a several hundred dollar lace front looks like on a regular sista, instead of Beyonce.
 
I have locks. They are pretty small and groomed Afrikan style. No bongo natties for this sis. They are an inch or two past my shoulders and are dark brown but there is a little left over reddish blond the bottom few inches. They are just down right now. I often get them twist or plait up into an updo but its too cold now. Sorry I don't have any pics.

Afrikan style? Does that mean they're very thin like micro braids? I'm curious

No not that thin. More a similar size to the rope twists. African grooming means they are palm rolled and very neat and round and even as opposed to bongo nattys that are not twisted or rolled just shook out with aloes and look more flat and many get stuck together so they get fatter and fatter.
 
Pretty sexy! I wear mine like that a lot, but I wear it up in the back quite a bit. No pics yet.

Lola I'm sorry I can't add to the knowledge of lace fronts. Really interesting though. I didn't even know they existed.

are you up on the really fat headbands that are kind of netted? you get them in the beauty supply. they are like 4 inches wide or maybe more and cover all your new growth and look real pretty and keep your hair up off your neck in teh nicest way. I love those.

When was young, I used to think dreds and locs and twists were nasty. I was about 10. Then as I hit puberty, I realized that I loved natural hair. I think well-kept locs and twists are sexy, I even rocked the comb twists for a while. But I love short pixie hairstyles. I'm talking Halle Berry/Jacque Reed/old school Nicole Ari Parker.
 
I'm channeling Tyra Banks right now with my 'do. It's just blown out hair with bangs framing my eyes. Actually, she's channeling me, cuz I've been rocking my hair like this since April.... This is a pic I took when the cut was fresh and the bangs were a lil thinner:

I love the straight hair with the bangs style. I got the same thing, only my bangs is different than you and Tyra's.

I like your style..it's pretty.

I'm actually in between lace wigs right now waiting on my order from China so I'm just rockin my regular wigs. Them things take 30 days to make.
 
^^^ Girl, I use white girl products. I don't know if you've tried these. But I use V05 Curvaceous Curls Mousse, which you can get from Shoprite, Walmart, Walgreens, wherever. Then I hit up the Sally and get these Beyond the Zone products. They have a curl cream called Noodle Head, which is really good, and then I get the frizz control gel. And thats it. I tried a whole bunch of different products before I finally settled on these.

Oh, and for Shampoo and Conditioner, I've been using Totally Twisted by Herbal Essence. It's in a purple bottle. I switch shampoos and conditioners every few months. But I've been working with this one for almost a year now. And I also use DooGro moisturizer every other day. It smells sooo good! It's for anti-breakage.

Thanks I have naturally curly hair that I wear without a perm for most the year. I did try noodlehead but I didn't get the results I wanted I will try that mousse tomorrow.
