Reading an erotic novel, or any kind of literature within that genre, to a partner can be one of the most intense forms of foreplay. The mind is where it all begins anyway...the imagination is a powerful thing.

Personally, I've read a few Zane books, frequented the story section on BGOL, and read many volumes of 'Letters to Penthouse'. I've also read some of those stories to partners I've had. Oddly, I enjoy reading most erotica alone. I tried it once with my ex but that ninja just kept laughing and ruined it for me. To get to a rapid boil, I'd rather watch porn or watch a man stroke his dick. I'm a visual learner Perhaps if I met a man that was into it (* cough* Aristotle) then I might have a different experience.

I prefer the erotic styling of Luther J. Skyywalker and Todd Anthony Shaw. In terms of a more contemporary author, i'll go with Akinyele Adams.

I personally don't like Zane. I find her writing to be too raunchy. I have read this one book, it's Ann Rice writing under the name A.N. Roquelaure. It's a trilogy, and I've only read the first one, "The taming of Sleeping Beauty." I don't want to spoil it in case anyone checks it out, but I recommend it HARD. I love to read, especially well written African American fiction. I guess because I love writing I am overly critical. But hey, I like what I like.

Yeah Anne Rice is something else when she's writing with an alias. I accidently picked up her book as a teen and folks thought I was reading a vampire mystery.
