My first thought was to be pissed at the bro above who posted this, after all, when his "fore-fathers" sold some of us (African Americans) to the white man, them "fore fathers" was actually selling they own fucking people. So what gives this muthafucka the right to be pissed about anything in America, when if it wasn't for his "fore-fathers" we would still be in africa, with no outside control!

I don't even entertain that kind of talk man!! You have ignorant people on both sides of the equation saying silly and asinine things. You as an individual have to arm yourself with the truth and avoid getting into these arguments in a negative fashion.

You can't say that your for the upliftment of Black people and be anti-Continental Africans.....and Africans on the continent can't say they believe in Black upliftment or African redemption and be anti-African American.

I saw that post, but it didn't move me no kind of way because being "sold over here" is what has made me who I am......so I don't get upset over that type of talk. I'm too proud of my heritage to sweat that.

I'm also proud of my African roots, and I refuse to let anybody here or over there make me engage in Anti-African talk.

Everybody is speaking out of pain. Black people in America feel like Africans betrayed us and think their better, Africans feel like we make fun of them, etc. But its like a cycle of abuse.....somebody has to be man enough or woman enough to break that cycle.

I break the cycle by not engaging in that type of foolishness. I'll correct brothers and sisters from Africa or here in America when they start spitting out stereotypes and falsehoods, but I won't get on that F-Africans bandwagon. Its counterproductive and helps to continue the current problem of white supremacy and rule.

I feel what your saying fam, I do. But what I believe bro is saying above us is, we was brought here! We didn't ask to leave home. We was forced to come here, our Wemon and Children were raped. You may be right, but the only reason it even moved me to post is because I have gone to school with Africans and I have had African Professors, and they have said the same type of things. That was my only purpose, to see if other Africans think this way and why because I have heard it before in face to face conversation.

I think that in a battle, the African Americans would win because African American women have bigger asses. That´s another thing. My point was to bring black folks together (African and African American) to talk about our issues, not to fight about who is wrong or right, and to understand what people with different opinions think. I would have thought that in this day and age this argument would be redundent.
Africans have never percieved themselves as 'Africans'
How else can you explain that in a country the size of Ghana, population 21 million has 9 official languges, 18 if we include those that are not officially recognised.Nigeria, population 150 million, has more than 200 living languages.This is typical accross the whole continent.
I bring up this point a to evidence the fact that Africans culturally have always differentiated themselves from each other.
Therefore when the Europeans came to Africa looking for slaves it was quite easy for Africans to find an ethnic group different from themselves to capture and sell.
Europeans may have percieved us as Africans but Africans always identified themselves by their tribe, not by their color.
African Americans see themselves as a separate tribe.
This I'm afraid, is a flaw in our psyche, which the Europeans have exploited to great effect.
Even though our characteristics and behaviour patterns are the same where ever we live in the world, we continue to see nothing but the differences, however small.
So I'm gonna revert to type and differenciate myself from all you 'I hate Africans and all you 'I hate African Americans' and set up my own tribe that recognisises the simple fact that apart from the way we speak,we're all the same.
All are who qualify are welcome!!
