****** Washington Post: Many Blacks Worse off Than Their Parents, Study Says ******

Re: ****** Washington Post: Many Blacks Worse off Than Their Parents, Study Says ***

You're so lost brother, I don't know where to begin. You've been heavily conditioned to believe anyone that recognizes this racist and fascist government, is automatically broke, uneducated, and shiftless. Shame on you. Sad part is, if you saw me in public, you would think I was the typical well dressed middle class brother. Fuck what you heard, I started investing in mutual funds and stocks at 18 years old. Started a second income business at 21, bought my first house at 22. My second and current home I bought was this year at 26. I'll soon be closing on a duplex. I'm also a cheap ass, so I keep money in my pocket. My only downfall was to not enrolling in college. That will change in the near future. However I've outpaced most of my peers by a long shot. There a lot of dudes on here claiming to rich or what ever, I could care less. I make middle income, so sue me. It's a long ways from where I grew up (Anacostia DC, Brown bags Raleigh NC) You need to learn to stop judging a book by it's cover.

I'm lost? Aren't you the one that was going to take to the streets to war against "the all powerful" white people? Leave your family and kids behind?

You've been dogging "material wealth" on 99% of your posts. If "owning" something is so wrong then why did YOU yourself do it in the first place? Seems like you're brainwashed as well right?

This is true for the country in general. White kids our age ain't exactly cakin' off either. The only difference is, they had a larger piece of the pie to begin with. If you look at it historically, we weren't allowed the GI Bill like white folks after WWII, so we couldn't get out of the hood like poor whites were. If you read Roosevelt's New Deal, it's carefully worded, but it cut out blacks.

When we were left those manufacturing jobs in the 60's and 70's, they dried up by the early 80's. Cut out again.

Those that managed to go to college in the 70's, 80's and 90's were on the come up again. People were getting houses with sub-prime mortgages and ARMs.

Fucked again, but in a worse way because now it's fucked with debt.

Re: ****** Washington Post: Many Blacks Worse off Than Their Parents, Study Says ***

My father's generation did well because the nation supported and valued the middle class, today, the middle class is under attack. There was a time when the dude with a trade was middle class and worked UNDER the dude with the Masters Degree, now the dude with the Masters has slipped to the equivalent of blue collar and the dude that used to be blue collar lives in Mexico or China. It's affecting EVERYBODY of every race, but black folks are like the canary in the coal mine because economic swings affect us first. If things keep going the way they are going, there will be three groups of people...
  1. Business owners
  2. Managers - small middle class
  3. Working poor - everybody else
I can't even tell cats to get their game up anymore in my field (IT) because the same job that paid me $50K per year entry level 10 years ago is paying $27K per year today (mostly due to outsourcing and these Indian dudes who are the IT equivalent of Mexicans). Salaries are on a SERIOUS downslide. I was just talking to a hire manager for one of teh consulting companies I work with and he was going to offer this Indian dude 100K for a Unix Admin gig, I told him to try and offer the dude 45K (AND THAT MUFUKKA TOOK THE OFFER!!!). Now, the next American that gets an offer for the same job will be lucky if they get $60K. Considering $100K was gonna be the INITIAL OFFER before ANY negotiation, that Indian dude undercut the shit out of ANY U.S. worker (most couldn't even afford to accept that particular job at that rate for the level of experience the job required).

You see what I'm seeing.

It amazes me how many do-nothing middle managers are out there making 6-figure salaries.

What's even more amazing are the incompetent senior managers who completely screw-up a company and yet still make millions per year.

Of course, we all know who is on and off this money train.

You're such a fucking idiot. You only choose what you want to read. Cartoon ass! I also said i'm living between to worlds and stuck with having to make a vital choices. That's my dilemma. Middle class family life or Putting everything on the line to make a difference. That's the problem I deal with. Why does it make you so damn angry? Crabs man I tell you. You're the same cat who told Harriet she was nuts.

If I was ignorant robbing and selling drugs, it would make your slave ass mind feel more comfortable huh?

Thing about middle managers is that MOST companies seem to be more efficient without them. I do consulting for a lot of different companies and the BEST RUN operations generally have a director level manager that is hands-off and NO middle managers at all (only project managers). Middle managers tend to spend more time trying to make themselves appear useful and climb that ladder than they do managing (means they tend to try and fix shit that isn't broke and BREAK it in the process). A lot of these companies will lay off 4 critical workers making $50K per year and keep one sorry assed middle manager who does nothing and makes $200K per year (you do the math). Last job I had was at Enron, after the mass layoff, my organization had 4 managers for three employees (and two contractors). The three empoyees worked INSANE hours due to staffing shortages and only ONE of those managers did ANYTHING (another one was his extremely overpaid admin assistant and the other two just sat in meetings and got in the way). Each manager made $100K+ per year, each "worker" made about 60-75K per year. They could have gotten rid of three of those four managers, hired an AA and paid her an AA salary (35K per year) and spent the other "approximately" $400K to hire 5 or 6 BADLY needed "workers". They claim folks demand too much money these days, but all that extra useless fat around the middle of these companies (I call middle managers "love handles") is the REAL waste.

Upper level managers tend to be more useful overall and I don't even have time to get into these useless fuckin' execs that soak up high salaries and LITERALLY don't do shit. Enron had execs that literally showed up for work once or twice a month, the rest of the time, they were supposedly "business traveling", but then we'd get these pics of these cats skiing, racing hummers in road rallies and "making it rain" in high-end strip clubs (like that shit was a "value add" to business). Hell, one exec I was kinda cool with used to brag about buying $12000 bottles of Yak on the corporate card to "entertain" visitors or flying to London to do "lunch" when he knew damn well he could have just set up a concall.

I guess that's how Enron ended up being Enron, but they aren't the only ones who did it, and they aren't the last ones either.

I haven't worked in corporate America since, I'll take their consulting dollars, but not shit else.
