Seems as though the young man had some mental problems, was unarmed and the police was told he was unarmed at the scene.You haven't advanced any info to counter that and what you or the police think should have happened to him is irrelevant cause thats not your job or theirs.

You even hear the man in the background himself saying that he has a gun and is going to kill your old lady. You arrive at home carrying a gun of your own and the man is not only talking shit to you, but he coming toward you with an unidentified dark object in his hand. Do you wait to get a closer look at the object in his hand and see if it's really a gun (even though he and your panicking wife have already said he has a gun) or do you pop a hot one in his ass and ask questions later?

Seems as though the original report of the mother saying he had a gun was in error. Reports are coming out that she did not say that but that the police call taker believes he/she heard him say it in the background. Don't believe the tapes have been released yet but that should bring some clarity to it. As far as the police judging the scene you are correct but again so far the police have not articulated a scene where there was a threat to anyone. I was referring to your comment saying because you believe this young man had done certain things he deserved to die. That decision is reserved for a judge and jury, not you, not the police.

Using your logic since it's the police job to confront people they meet on every call they would be justified in shooting everybody who moves funny or looks crazy.
