weird bout that slave comment...but not the first...some people said it looks like its her teeth being examined like old slave days...but really.it was about messing with her lips and mouth to mek the shots kinda sexy..that was the intention anyway

No, it's not just you, I felt the same! And I'm not used to seeing that on the AF site. I usually look to AF to learn from and improve my photo technique. I was very uncomfortable with the last 2 pics.

The last two pics were a bit disturbing...but I know your other work is always on point. So I gave the benefit of the doubt.

I love me some dark women. I love me some women period, but I really love dark women..

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Out of respect for brotha PETER DEAN RICKARDS of AF.....I know that my lil' opinion and impression was not the intent of the photo.....

but artwork does invoke thought and feelings and my reply was just a reflection of my personal feelings about those shots....not a diss of the AF movement I still and always will support Afflicted Yard.

Big ups on the art work.

co-sign on the initial feelings regarding those last two pix.

...but so it the mission of art. It invokes different feelings in different people. We all bring our own experiences into the art that we are viewing, regardless of the intention of the artist.

Which is why we need art.

yah man i never took the comments as an insult or anything...if anything it gives me feedback..i really dont mind if the photos at the end are disturbing..in my world u have to have some stuff that will cause people to stop a second...

its interesting that different races will see the photos in different ways..to me its sexual but theres no denying the submissive nature of the photos...and the slave aspect..well...its open to interpretation i guess..if a photo can do that then its done more than an average photo ...

should be interesting to see what the white world thinks in europe this weekend :

BEAUTIFUL WORK I HAVE BEEN CHECKING IT OUT FOR A WHILE NOW.
AS A FELLOW SHUTTERBUG I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT ITS LIKE TO HAVE A PIECE
INTERPRETED FROM DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES AND LOGISTICS.
AS AN ARTIST
THERE IS NOTHING GREATER THAN STANDING NEAR A PIECE YOU SHOT IN A GALLERY OR A SHOW AND HAVE PEOPLE ENGAGED VIGOROUSLY IN CONVERSATION ABOUT ITS MEANING AND WHAT THE ARTIST WAS THINKING AT THAT MOMENT IN TIME.

NO MATTER WHAT YOUR INTENTIONS WERE YOU DID YOUR JOB AS A PHOTOGRAPHER,
INVOKE THOUGHT AND PROVOKE DIALOG !
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK

It's refreshing to see you work.

But you post so infrequently.:(

So true :( but...when he does post

As always loving your work Afflicted. The provocation of thought and emotion shows that you are great at what you do. Respect as always.
