For all the Sci-Fi buffs........Top 50 Dystopian Movies of All Time

EXCELLENT DROP! ..THANK YOU FOR THIS.
be very useful in reminding me what movies to downlo....er....hire from
blockbusters and other excellent legal stores.

i've seen 28 of those movies, some of the older ones when they came out.

i LOVED Logan's Run as a kid. it was made into a summer replacement tv show on CBS, ran a few episodes and was cancelled.

This is indeed truly a classic. Imagine a future where The Indy 5000 no longer takes place at Watkins Glen or Brans Hatch but the Streets from New York to San Francisco is the Driving course and points are earned (GET THIS) by mowing down people with your car.

Bonus Points for killing Elderly, Pedestrian, Nursing home drive by's, i mean OVER.

Carradine plays the evil Frankenstein dubbed so by the so called various body parts they use to put him back together after a previous car crash.

Also Starring Sylvester Stallone in one of his earlier roles.

CULT CLASSIC all the way around and you will laugh your ass off when the cars come rolling by a nursing home with elderly taking their daily walks.
Lots of Nudity 30 Breast and a whole lot of driving.. over the DEAD that is.

Kinda reminds me of the game which followed some years later called
CARMAGEDDON 1, 2, 3 & 4 all of which was Banned in the USA

Props for mentioning Zardoz, that was a terrific film. Another Sean Connery sci-fi flick that needs be mentioned is Outland. This year's Sunshine needs to be added to the list also.

yup and Outland definitely fit the dystopian theme

Could a case be made for Repo Man? Or is that too "all over the place"?

The Day After?

Testament is also good.

Im looking for that miniseries Amerika but cant find it.

I can't wait until that Ultimate Blade runner set comes this christmas. Who else is going to get it!!!!!????????:dance::dance:

what new will be in it?
Blade Runner is one of my top flicks - I really wish they made a sequel

Not much really they just cleaned up the movie and added some subtle digital effects. Here's a review of the new director's cut.

As far as a sequel goes I can't see it happening, there is really no where to go with the story and it would cost a fortune to get it off the ground.

Also on a side note Len Wiseman( Underworld, Die Hard 4 ) won't be directing the new "Escape From New York" remake as I hoped. Instead its going to be Brett Ratner. I hope he doesn't fuck this one up!!

I have only seen about 14-15 of them.... Honestly not into sci fi as much as maybe I should be..... Read some great books by Alan Dean foster and Michael Crichton

i was just interested in the world they painted
kinda 5th elementish minus the cartoonish crap

yeah saw that Brett Ratner shit - I guess this means he'll be casting some trannies in it

Nice to see Brazil in the top 3. First saw that flick about 5 years ago and it became an all-time fav.

The Day After?

nah i think that could just be considered as post-apocalypse..i was rooting for the dad from Moesha to survive, too bad he didnt LOL

IMO Judge Dredd wouldve been a perfect addition to the list had stallone not screwed up how dredd was portrayed(i.e. taking the helmet off, falling in love(which Judges are not supposed to do),etc)

yeah judge dredd turned out to be some bitch shit

the gregory peck joint was post-apocalyptic too - they were hanging people and other shit towards the end

That movie Testament is way iller. Woman washing her son's bleeding ass out in a dirty fuckin sink cuz he has radiation sickness and is dying

Do you remember Amerika?

I admit... I didn't know what the fuck "Dystopian" meant, but I'm glad I came into this thread anyway!!

Oh yeah I remember the controversy about "Threads". Yeah and Stallone totally fucked up Dredd. At the time I only had heard about the comic, but didn't read it. Now after having the 2000AD comics that movie was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy off from the book. This should have been a sci-fi classic. The only thing that was good about the Dredd film was the production design.
