What do you mean "about to"? These guys have all gotten major settlement checks from Duke already. MAJOR!! What more do they want? These guys are complete pieces of shit who are now trying to rob the tax payers of Durham, NC blind.
Count yourself in that crowd. You seem to measure justice in terms of settlement dollars. Again, the criminal justice system doesnt work that way. A citizen brought charges, the state persued them and was unsuccessful. All charges were eventually dropped (these men were never convicted of anything). The DA in the case was disbarred, fired and sent into oblivion. Justice served. You want further justice, bring a civil suit against the accuser.I say good for them. No matter what the color, the DA/City needs to be held accountable when they cross the line, period.

So now its about the right to file civil suits? I thought it was about Justice being served? If this is the case then the accuser had a "right" to file those criminal charges. They were indicted by a grand jury and charges were immediately dropped once the accuser changed her story. The elements of malicious prosecution are extremely hard to meet and considering the disciplinary measures which have already been taken, the settlement they have received from Duke and the declaration of their innocence from every media outlet available, i would say justice has been served. These clowns are bringing suit based largely off of emotion, ego entitlement and revenge. There is little if any precedent or legal theory to back this nonsense. Like i said, it dont work like that and it is YOU who doesnt know what the fuck you are talking about.
Hate to sound so harsh but I agree with this poster right here. They need to move on. The last poster asked 'what if they were black'.... well you see the Rutgers chicked was talked down on for trying to file a suit and she wound up dropping it. Everybody's just sue happy these days. Nifong and the City aren't going to have to pay one cent of that lawsuit money.... it will be the taxpayers coming out of the pockets. But these dumb ass 'Duke Boys' want to just keep rubbing this shit in. You ask if 'they were black' would they do the same.... hell nah!!! As many wrongfully convicted black people we have in jail today as well as the ones that did 15-20 years for nothing and got out and just wanted to live their life........ If all of them had came out with big ass lawsuits, there would be nobody being tried for crimes at all because every law enforcement official would be afraid that he/she could be wrong. So get off that kick man!!! Fuck the Duke LaCrosse guys. All this lawsuit shit has got them in the news just as much as the fake ass rape case, so are they really trying to get their lives back???
