can a pc I.M. a sidekick? (plus old pics)

This chick i know got a sidekick and a tmail account for instant messaging,i dont have tmail or sidekick. I told her see if she can i.m. with yahoo,aol,or msn on her sidekick. They dont have a way i can get a free tmail messenger or something???
