great post got choked up when superman died lol:)

no but seriously superman's face(trying to make him look like adam baldwin) looked busted up before he fought doomsday lois lane is still fit though:)

lex can pass on his design but still prefer the jlu version.

for those who have been downloading from sendspace and need file number 8 you dont need it, it only contains the credits when extract the file from winrar check "keep broken files" that give you the avi file minus the missing end credits.

8 posts in and dropping heavy tech knowledge (not to mention giving me back the two hours of my life I spent d/l'ing the first damn 7 parts)

Only watched up to the point where Superman dies. My thoughts so far:
1. Don't like the lines in Superman's face. Makes him look like he had already fought doomsday.

2. They made lois lane look like she was mixed w/black or Asian or something. Nice.

3. Luthor. Not crazy about his new smaller look, but whatever. I wish they had the same actor from the Justice League do his voice though... that guy IS lex luthor to me. I do love how they really showed his genius, and also showed his truly evil nature. Discovering the cure for MS and AIDS, then burying that info and figuring out ways to draw out the treatment to ensure money for his company. Showing him kill...

4. I love the fact that they are showing people get killed. Makes the threats feel more realistic.

5. The doomsday battle was too quick. felt like they rushed through it. And, they did need to have other heroes in this cartoon. I read through the comic book over the weekend at some book store, and the fact that Doomsday defeated a bunch of powerful hero types w/one arm was thoroughly impressive. They also could have used some external monologue by Superman. It would have helped to know that he was so tired he couldn't move, and that he doubted if he was even slowing doomsday down, etc, and then showing him somehow heroically still getting back up and taking it to him.

All in all I have enjoyed it so far though. Definitely agree that some of the Justice League stuff was much better, but this is worth watching/buying. Could have been much better, but still give it between a 7 and 8 out of 10.

When it's goes for $10 bucks at Best Buy (boycotting Circuit City) in a few months.

As far as I'm concerned,

This has to be WWWAAAAAAYYY better than that big-budget "LOIS AND CLARK" Bullshit Bryan Singer directed last year.
 
This was definitely better than the Superman Returns movie. It has a lot more violence than I expected (which is good). Superman got his ass royally kicked twice so prolonging the fights any longer would have been too much. Nice seeing Doomday kill so many people.

Where was the Justice League?!?! I expected that there would at least be a cameo by Batman at the funeral. :angry:

The voices, Lois Lane was cool but Luthor's and Superman's voices didn't work for me. I'm too used to hearing the voice actors from JLU.

BTW, didn't it seem like in a lot of Luthors monologues about Superman he sounded gay? Especially the one at the beginning of the movie: "Just look at him, so sleek, so powerful, so...beautiful..." :eek:

Also, is Doomsday a DC version of the Hulk? Is this their way of showing what would happen if Superman and Hulk went at it? Hmmm...

All in all, I give this a 8 out of 10. It would have ranked higher if they used the Justice League at didn't draw those weird ass cheekbones on Superman.

Thats pretty much the shit that makes this okay but no where near a classic which it had some potential to be.

Lex was drawn too scrawny and voiced by James Marsters (spike off buffy), dunno how they expected that one to work, and the lines down superman's face bugged the hell outta me from five mins in, kept looking at that an hatin it more than I was listenin to him and seein what was happenin.

A cameo from Batman at the funeral too much to ask?

And real talk, they need to take a page outta Marvel's book and improve the animation level if they wanna compete. The end episodes of JLU with Darkseid outrank this film 20:1 in my opinion.

Agree that though this film could have been better (and the animation and voices should have been retro) this was way better than Brainiac Attacks and Superman Returns.

I will disagree that Batman or any other superheroes should be present. They would then HAVE TO be present when the new Superman wigs out. I would have liked to see the OTHER Supermen (Superboy, John Henry, etc.) put out of business by the clone.

TWO things:
Will they ever make a Bane remake? This is a great story if kept in line with the original script.

And, as previously mentioned: Bring on the Hulk vs. Doomsday

Superman and hulk fought in the DC vs MARVEL crossover. i'm downloading the whole series to post in the comic thread. they had some CRAZY match ups in that shit.

doomsday is from krypton too so he pretty much got all the powers but he was engineered like a saiyan where every fight he is in makes him stronger and you will NEV ER beat him the same way twice. he is nothing but killer instinct!!!
 
thoughts on this version of blue and red boy:

1) i didn't like blue and red boy with lines in his face.
2) Is Lois black, latina, or arab?
3) why does luthor look like he needs a sandwich? the old voice was better
4) the fight scene was good but too short. i was pro doomsday.
5) the BLACK COSTUME IS BETTER THAN THAT OTHER ONE.
6) the story arc should have been about doomsday only - not some already used stupid version of superman 2 the movie (tired of seeing "darkside superman" as if he does not have one normally).

did i say the BLACK COSTUME WAS BETTER?

I enjoyed this movie but I expected more involvement with Doomsday considering the name of the movie is Superman Doomsday. Fight scene was over too fast and they don't even explain what they did with him after the fight was over.

It was like $14.00 on Amazon.com last time I checked. If I can't find one while I'm out this weekend, I'll order it from there.

EDIT: OK, I have to take issue with one part of this. Doomday can't be stopped by bullets and shit, right? Well how come when he jumped on the helicopter Jimmy Olsen stepped on his fingers and he fell off grasping his fingers in pain??:rolleyes:

Oh and the lines on his face make him look like a 50 year old stressed out business man...:lol:

Has Doomsday's origin ever been shown with any type of consistency? JLU had a brief one of him and he was defeated by a Supe's heat ray ... :hmm:

I didn't point this out because the it was already mentioned that this would not be a major point of the film. Why, I have no idea. The aftermath ...

:hmm: ahhhh, I see you read the Hunter/Prey storyline about Supes's "rematch" against Doomsday.... Yeah, I gotta admit I bought that story about DD being from Krypton a billion years ago. :lol: Yeeah, after DD owned his ass, Darkseid basically told Superman he should step-off or else he'd just get killed again - this time permantly.

I never read the origin of Doomsday they probably retcotted the story though. Can't see Supe's defeating him with just a heat ray.:smh::hmm:

From what I remember back in the Superman's Death comic, he first appeared outta knowwhere or from underground or something.

Copped this joint a couple of days ago from best buy for $14.99. It's pretty good. I think the lines on Superman's face are supposed to show aging. It's pretty funny too. Funniest moment.

Random guy: "Who's the guy in Black?"
