Is there anything that has gotten so expensive you just had to stopped buying It?

Love Chinese food, but stopped buying it because it's way too expensive for the portions you get, at least in the DMV area. Overall, I stopped eating out in general because I'm overpaying for shitty food or good food with small portions.

Case in point, I bought some fast food yesterday (Wendy's). Almost $11 for 10 nuggets, small cold fry, and medium drink. I only did it because I was hungry and I was killing time before a 3 o'clock appointment.

Concerts - ever since Beyonce, everyone thinks they can charge $500 for cheap seats.
Five Guys - just the burger is more than a combo meal at a fast food spot
Yeah. Scalpers get all the tickets and double em. I just saw Bruno Mars for $160. I saw Anthony Hamilton for around $300 for two. What I quit was fights in Vegas. Those tickets are ridiculous!

Restaurants are closing daily. I love independent breweries and they are all closing due to $9 drafts.

Yea, I stopped dating completely, and not just due to financial cost, the shit is exhausting. The process, the pretentiousness, the song & dance, the representatives, the time ...the opportunity cost is too high, especially for women that wanna compare and compete with a man
Wow.
You said it perfectly.

As has been said, chivalry is dead because women killed it.

Oxtails

I mean I can still afford them but I’m not interested in paying for overpriced oxtails nowadays. I rather just get something else in that case.

Steak prices have gotten ridiculous. I will only buy a choice grade if it is on sale now.
Bought these yesterday.

I miss my egg foo young, but I'm going to find some YouTube recipes and learn to make that and some other Chinese dishes at home.

Chinese food in my area is trash and I don't go to chinatown in center city because that shit is too expensive with also having to catch transportation to pay for fare which isn't worth it to pay all that money for some food.

But back then it was cheap and the food was good every time with it being affordable.

I don't eat out much and when I do, I don't buy a lot of shit which I'll buy a few things and I'm out.

I’m my algebra class, I have my students do a budget sheet so they can see what is up when they get out in the real world. We learn about how our money is finite and the cost of many things around us. We discussed cost of living in different cities, adapting to their environment, and matching their career salary expectations with their expected cost of living. Mind you, these are 18-21 year olds, so they have limited exposure, but the point was to introduce them to adulting and how to mathematically model a budget.

Funny thing about this exercise is how it open the door to many other things we have to consider as adults that many replies in this threat have already mentioned. When there are constraints, we cut back. But what we cut back could be things we actually enjoy. We also talked about the cost of being in relationships, the cost of being dependable, and the other costs we pay for at the expense of others (time, emotional, social, etc.).

You should have stopped eating the bat, rat, dog, wolf, moose, snake, feces and urine fried rice after you saw this......

I was a fiend for Reese’s Cups and Hostess Honeybuns; both are $3. Hard pass.
Yeah, it's crazy now what the prices are today....:smh:

I have a mother & grandmother who are diabetic which they need candy when their sugar is low which is why I need to buy it for them.

I try to buy them on sale or bulk to save money as much as I can.

Funny you say that.. I go to a wholesale spot in the bx that sell a particular lollipop for $8 and it comes with 200 lollipops.. another popular lollipop brand for $6 you get 48.. they also sell old school dollar candy like $7 for like 350 candies.. I bulk shop there to buy certain things to give my mom certain lil things cause she diabetic and when her sugar low need something quick to spike it up.. plus I might have some for lil kids, in the crib when chicks got a lil sweet tooth, something to have to keep breath fresh, and Halloween forget about it

Cars, keeping my current Jawns until they explode. Used cars are damn near as. Much as new and some like the BMW F80 going up in price

They have candy now that's healthier but still taste good.

I have to grind down my grandmother medicine since she no longer can swallow a whole pill anymore with the taste being bitter after mixing with apple sauce that she would need candy afterwards.

So, I'm always looking for a sale to buy bulk as much as I can.

I sometimes give kids candy for Halloween.

Outside food has gotten so bad, I order food delivery maybe once a month and regret it each time.
Paying $40 per person to avoid washing dishes isn't worth it anymore, I'll chef it up and eat healthier.

No ads on streaming services. Hulu, ESPN+, Disney+, Prime, Netflix, HBO Max, Peacock. Need all of these to watch what you want.

Bags of chips… this been going on for a few yrs .. can’t find no chips that’s a $1.. the very few are smaller than old school quarter chips.. only chips I might get is from Costco.. pretty much a lot of snacks.. my Jew ways will not have me overpay for sweet and savory.. yes I can afford the price but it’s the principle
Yea, now the avg price for the reg bag is $4, unless you caught a sale.

I ain't gotta have em. Walk right on by

If you ate for free, what would be your top 3 spots?

Firearms, and most of the related items. The only thing that I'm actively purchasing is ammo, I've even slowed down on that.
