The Exorcist: Believer
2023

3.5/10

I watched this flick this morning on SyFy channel ONDEMAND in my cable box. I was surprised it was commercial free, that isn’t normal for ONDEMAND content.

Being I’m probably the last person to see this. No need to go into it.

There was nothing new with the Evil Possession scenes. They basically did was had been done with prior evil possession films since the 1970s.

The highlight of the film was the demons making reference to Regan MacNeil. She is the girl played by actress Linda Blair in the first film. She has a cameo at the end of the film. It’s clear that these demons are still connected to her and for some unknown reason are after her.

The 2nd highlight was the performances of the two child actress’ doing their evil possessions. They did a decent job with their acting.

I looked into it and there were plans to make a trilogy. That has been cancelled being this film bombed at the box office. No word yet on future plans for the franchise.

Synopsis

The plot follows a single father whose daughter and her friend become possessed after disappearing in the woods, forcing him to seek help from Chris MacNeil, who has experience with demonic possession.

Flight World War II
2015

4.5/10

I stumbled upon this flick cruising through my tubi recommendations. The teaser and synopsis caught my attention. I watched it this morning on tubi.

The film is somewhat similar to the cult classic ‘The Final Countdown’ starring Kirk Douglas. Here the film is based around a commercial airliner.

The first 5 minutes is character introduction of the crew, from there it immediately goes into SHTF stage. That part surprised me cuz I was expecting SHTF to happen around 30 minutes into the film.

After that, it goes into character introduction into some of the passengers.

There is a few twists in what happens. The film does a good job throwing you off with one character after what is explained with the famous ‘Battle of Dunkirk’. I was thrown off and impressed on how the film played it out. I’m not gonna spoil it.

It’s a basic B-Movie with ‘Arrowverse’ special effects.

The film is presented in a way to keep your eyes glued to the screen.

Synopsis

Is a sci-fi/war film where a modern-day Boeing 757, Flight 42, is mysteriously transported back in time to 1940s France during World War II after flying through a strange storm. The passengers and crew, led by Captain William Strong (Faran Tahir), must survive the war, ally with the French resistance, and find a way to return to their own time, with their actions potentially altering history.

Apex
2026

4/10

I watched this film earlier this morning at home on Netflix.

Not much to say about it. It’s a survival, action thriller with a plot that has been done a million times since the 1940s in film.

Nothing for suspense. Action is nothing spectacular. There is a twist with the main villain, but nothing spectacular.

There is one minor supporting character at the beginning that I assumed would have a surprising cameo at the end. He is one of the Asshole hunters. Nothing became of him, which if he came back, could have made a good twist to save the film.

CGI/VFX/SFX with Charlize Theron doing climbing scenes looked good.

For the Foot Fiends, a number of decent scenes showing Charlize/her stunt double feet.

If you looking for something to watch to kill time…this will do.

Synopsis

A woman seeking solace in the Australian wilderness becomes the target of a hunter in a twisted game of survival.

Y'all just hating. The movie is nowhere as bad as people are trying to make it. The story is not original it is your typical Samurai 7 plot but with super girl instead of multiple heroes. This movie is suppose to be a one off introduction to the character that did not require her to be fighting any main timeline villains. I think people are mad because the chic does look like the little wild kid in Mad Max and doesn't have much sex appeal.

Folks today just love complaining cuz it makes them look cool.

If the internet was around in 1977, Star Wars would have been a bust on opening weekend cuz mofos would be bitchin’ and complaining about there was no Black people in the film and that Princess Leia had a smart ass mouth.

And you can only imagine the hate that Christopher Reeves ‘Superman’ and ‘Star Trek: The Motion Picture’ would have gotten if the internet was around back in the late 1970s.

@blackbull1970

I have been saving this docuseries for my dad in recent months. It's a 20-part series from the History channel and has been airing since the spring. I have a series recording set for it at home and have seen a few of the eps. Pops is about 80% complete so far and recommends it ... I usually add 2 episodes to his flashdrive each week when I update his shows for him ...

Yeah.

I have been recording it. I finished Episode 14 this afternoon.

It’s a pretty good series. Tom Hanks added a lot of stuff that I was completely unaware of. I never knew Joseph Stalin went into a deep depression thinking all was lost when the Germans were approaching Stalingrad.

Hope to get it completed my months end.

Right on.

Yeah - the format definitely allows for plenty of information / footage to be included. Glad you have been keeping track of it & have seen 70% so far. Good plan to have it finished over the course of the month.

We're currently about halfway through season 4 of Homicide: Life on the Street, and wrapping up Cape Fear.

Also checking out Sugar season 2 and The Westies season 1.

Gonna do a proper rewatch of Fargo season 2 (from 2015) once we complete Sugar and Cape Fear.

I've got an 8 x 11 sheet of paper at his place that I jot down his flashdrive updates on with a SHARPIE pen so that he knows what homework he has to complete - I.E. - episodes to watch - before I next update the flashdrive a week later, lol).

The internet dosent work that way.. the internet dosent make you into a bitch.. in the 70s black people and Latino people were accustomed to not seeing their faces on the big screen and yet still supported those films where complexion wasn’t on it.. nobody in the 70s was tricked into thinking Superman and Star Wars was full of black people.. they didn’t think Superman was black and than walk into the theatre like omg I’ve been swindled.. 70s-90s wasn’t full of bitch ass nigs, or the bitch ass nigs knew how to hide from being ridiculed.. lot of new star wars films still made close to a billy with majority white cast and people complaining so it meant nothing ..action speaks louder than words..money was still made in the complaining era

That's the one issue that people keep saying that I don't understand. I'd fuck the hell outta young Rhaenyra. Especially if she's wearing that Supergirl outfit.

No sex appeal :hmm:

The highlighted part of your statement proves my earlier point.

If the internet was around back in the 1970s, those ‘Bitch Ass Nigs’ would have a outlet.

There was no public outlet back then like it is today with the internet.

Five Easy Pieces
1970

7.5/10

I stumbled upon this earlier last month while surfing through tubi. The teaser that tubi has with a scene with Jack Nicholson had me bust out laughing. I knew I had to watch it. I watched it last night at home.

It’s mainly a character drama centered around the main character that Nicholson plays. He is a child prodigy for whatever unknown reason, decided to walk away from a potential successful career as a pianist.

The film has a ‘Easy Rider’ vibe to it. That’s because the director of this film was involved with Easy Rider.

The cast is loaded with a good number of recognizable actors who later became well known in films/TV series throughout the 70s/80s as supporting actors. A number of them are unrecognizable because they are young in age.

For the Thirsty, Sally Struthers (All In The Family) has a small role. She looks like a teenager unlike how she looked in the TV series. She has a nice set of C-Cup boobs and has a hilarious sex scene with Nicholson. Karen Black co-stars and looks smashable in the scenes she is in with her famous ‘Crossed Eyes’.

I looked it up and this film got a number of Oscar/Golden Globe nominations/wins. Nicholson got his first Oscar nomination with this film. This is the film that jump started his career as a legendary actor.

tubi has a amazing, crystal clear restored version of the film. It looks like it was filmed last year.

Synopsis

It stars Jack Nicholson as Bobby Dupea, a rebellious oil rig worker who is secretly a former piano prodigy from a wealthy, cultured family. The film follows Bobby as he takes his working-class girlfriend, Rayette (Karen Black), on a road trip to visit his dying father, leading to a clash of cultures and an exploration of alienation, identity, and the search for meaning in the early 1970s.
