I still really think the mouse set him up from the jump.
Good analysis and point.....
I may be a little naive, has there been any other times when a major studio banked a whole trilogy/ story arc..... around one person / character and that person ruined it off screen?
Like Mark Hamil wasn't a piece of shit druggy and alcy that was dismissed from Star Wars.
RDJ had his own issues with the law and movies, but he wasn't the focus of a whole series of movies back then......
Maybe Shia Lebouf and Transformers and then Indiana Jones......? Anyone else?
I thought he met that wight walker on the set of Ant-man.I don't see it.
He was obsessed with that crazy snowflake WAY before bro. You heard friends and colleagues coming out like why were you still messing with her? and he kinda weird himself as we saw.
He did that to himself.
Still doesn't excuse destroying that man career
I thought he met that wight walker on the set of Ant-man.
Disney knew he was an odd duck and probably was asking for way too much. (That shit was probably shown in that seen in Wonderman how Simon came off trying to rewrite a character and ended up getting fired)
Yeah he did that to himself but that apple was there to be plucked.
In my unpopular opinion.

Just going back to the opinion that Disney set him up. Poison Apple = herWhat do you mean by that?

Jared Leto..?I was going to say Shia because of Indy and Transformers
Its tricky cause depends some projects were recast some antics ruined careers and some ruined projects
The easiest biggest example is Ezra Miller DCU Flash
Gina Carrano went full MAGA missed up the Star Wars spin offs kinda
Kevin Spacey House of Cards
Ed Norton COULD have been Hulk
TJ Miller messed up Deadpool kinda but they recovered well and his own life was destroyed
Isaiah Washington Grey's Anatomy
Off the top I'm sure there are more.

Being punished and being held accountable is a distinction without a difference. An unwanted consequence to an action is definitionally a punishment.
The question should be if he's being unfairly punished. I don't have an answer or even an opinion on that question.
Jared Leto..?![]()
I would say yes. I guess that depends on your definition for "consequence." But I would say any punitive response to an action is punishment. It may or may not be a harsh punishment but it's still a punishment.all unwanted consequences is a punishment?

You couldn't just fire a Black man who was at the time the recruiting face of the Army and was getting Oscar buzz for just being weird so you could change and blow up everything and reset.Oh okay. I dont see it
Why? They could have just fired him
They lost $100s of millions this way and the bad press and headache and umm MONEY!
What if the fight in the car or the chase lead to a serious accident?
Majors BEEN weird (like many in Hollywood) and chose a white woman he wanted to be his Corretta Scott King? You saw those interviews? Marvel did that?
You think Disney MADE HIM link up with a crazy white woman and then told her to be extra crazy and that Johnathan would be super attracted to her crazy even though it was so crazy others warned him his career and freedom would be threatened?
How the hell is Disney or Marvel responsible or BENEFIT from that?
Okay. Man if they were THAT smart to have the actual powers of Kang Loki and Doom combined???
Why were they making so many bad projects in a row??!!
My bad if you explained this already, but why would Disney want to get rid of him that badly? They hired him.You couldn't just fire a Black man who was at the time the recruiting face of the Army and was getting Oscar buzz for just being weird so you could change and blow up everything and reset.
Disney didn't have make her do anything extra. As careful as they are, you don't think they miss any info on anything and anyone?
You can always put something out in front of someone if know their preferences.
Disney ends up getting their favorite son back and we're still watching the MCU at the same rate overall.

Don't forget TJ Miller also fucked up Silicon Valley so bad that they wrote his character off by saying he'd gone to Tibet and was last seen in an Opium Den.

Ima drop it. I'm entitled to create crazy scenario that defies common logic.Bro we just saw Disney end Armor Wars, Wonder Man and Blade. So that aint no issue.
I don't like the narrative that that grown ass man was so f**king weak that the white people knew to sprinkle some white tail in front of him to make him lose his mind.
that's offensive.
Why can't the man f**k up JUST LIKE HUNDREDS OF OTHER ACTORS have f**ked up?
We don't need to create some elaborate mission impossible scenario.
White women are the devil...wtf about that is NEW? Some brothers make HORRIBLE decisions when it comes to women. PERIOD
And you CANNOT just ignore them losing $100s of millions to get this done.
it would have been easier and cheaper and more beneficial by your logic to just kill him.
Ima drop it. I'm entitled to create crazy scenario that defies common logic.
However, he in particular was weak in that aspect.
Honeytraps ain't nothing new.
Never underestimate white people creating elaborate plans to burn shit down.
Killing him wouldn't have solved it.
All killing would've done is no longer having to work with him.Why not?
All killing would've done is no longer having to work with him.

For....... Morbius or Skeletor.....?
Cuz critics are talking like neither was getting a sequel
Hollywood don't got shit new to sell. It's obvious they've ran out material.

Wait.....
Are we talking about the same thing.....?
I was asking what franchises were negatively effected by Leto's off screen drama.
With that said, I recall there being some on set drama around the movie.
But this movie wasn't performing. The story was .....meh.
The budget was $220M, (adjust to roughly $250/$260M to include marketing)......
It only grossed $140M worldwide.
That wasn't a Leto problem, that was a director, story, Disney problem.
Tron was released in 1982, Legacy in 2005, Ares in 2025 ...... how the fuck did they expect stringing a trilogy across 40+ years would turn out?!! They squeezed all the juice they could from that IP, (without properly setting each sequel up).
