Any Plex users here ?

These have been previously posted but these are boxart resources.

Alternative movie posters.

in the past i only upgraded my fav movies to the now defunct 1080p x265 rarbg 2GB, but know im upgrading to movies that i like too , so thats hundreds of movies

since that site RARBG no longer exist , someone made a cache of all the torrent links

heres the link

https://rarbgdump.com/
just search for the name of the movie and add "1080p x265" at the end , theres a 90% chance they made a small 1080p version for it under 2gb depending how long the movie is, never no more than 2000kbps

If you were thinking of getting an Apple tv

Prices went up $129 to $199

$200 is for non Ethernet model
$250 is for Ethernet

Best Buy and other retailers still have them the old price but it will change soon
So buy one now if you want one

reminder after july 1 2026 plex life time pass will cost $750
so buy now before is too late at $250
if you really like the service

or you can keep using it like always for free with no remote stream, or pay monthly subscription

or use another service altogether like jellyfin thats free

i heard you can't stream remote with jellyfin or share access with others, you know if there's anything to that?

I don’t know anything about Jellyfin
When plex stops remote streaming for me , I’ll likely use the Apple local streaming app which is free and like plex , you just gotta add your own posters , but that’s no problem for me

Last day today June 30 to buy plex lifetime pass before it jumps to $700
As much as I like plex , no way in hell I would pay that much
Last chance
$200 is steep but compared to $700 I’ll take it , I wouldn’t be happy but I would buy it at that price

I got my plex lifetime pass like 10 years ago when it was $70 something

I got family members and some close friends remote streaming from my server

Oh that motherfucker is a SERVER server. I always thought this was something you could just run off a spare PC
It is I was running my plex server on a Mac mini from 2012 till I upgraded recently to a new Mac mini m4
That’s just someone’s fancy server setup

You could run a plex server on a raspberry pi

99.9% of plex servers look like this

With Jellyfin, you can do anything you can do with Plex but for for free but Jellyfin due to it's nature is going to be better suited for power users.

Along with the $750 lifetime plan

There’s a new 5 year plan for $250 US dollars

I guess I was asking about the server. So the mac mini can play all the file types? What about storing files/downloads?
You can use any old computer you have around , you just have to leave it on 24/7
Any computer can play any file type, if the player can’t play a file, the server computer will transcode the file in real time when playing the video

For storage I use a 5 bay hard drive enclosure, AKA a DAS

These are very cheap , you can get one for under $150
The expensive thing is the hard drives right now

Hella expemsive... even flash drives are ridiculous. If you are a skilled shucker, you can buy new ones, swap the drives and return. Or so I've been told.

If I had this enclosure and 316tb of free space I still wouldn’t get 60gb remux Blu-ray files
