What’s truly alarming is the appearance that those in power can enrich themselves while public trust erodes around them. Critics argue that Trump and members of his family profited enormously during and after his presidency, while oversight mechanisms, including parts of the Justice Department and Congress, failed to hold them accountable. The fear is not just about one administration, but about a precedent: if presidents can shield allies and relatives through broad pardons, accountability becomes optional. That is why many believe any future administration should pursue credible investigations wherever the evidence leads, regardless of politics or status.
