PRAISE: Blending bits of Agoraphobia and Misanthropy and a lot more makes this film very watchable. The movie presents a furniture store owner who has experienced several misfortunes Clark (Chiwetel Ejiofor ) who finds an infinite amount of space connected to his store that has a haunting presence to it. Director Kane Parsons wants the audience to experience the same curiosity, panic and terror the characters that inhabit this film experience. Parsons and Writer Will Soodik fortunately don't rely on one thing to entertain and increase levels of suspense. They provide a grab bag of a little bit of everything that can frighten and audience but also make them think especially about the repetitive nature of the mind especially when one feels they've been wronged in some way.The therapist needing therapy threads in various stories always appeals to me and I thought , Renate Reinsve did a great job as a maybe to caring , Dr. Mary Kline, but then again one would wish they could get a therapist as caring as she is.I liked that the movie remains true to the YouTube videos made by KanePixels four years ago. The SFX and practical effects designers come up with some very well done and impressive imagery.

PROBLEMS: A couple of characters are sorely underused. I wish the movie had held off on one of the reveals until the very end of the movie. It watered the movie down a bit for me.

I wanted to support it

Is God Is was so much better than this.

It was what I suspected. This was even more crazier than Sorry To Bother You. Someone needs to reign in Boots Riley, because his mushroom ADD movies :smh: He can be a good director if he isn't the writer.

I apologize if I was snoring to the people around me, but I lost interest in this early. I wasn't the only one, because hearing this dude in a couple of rows down was making me stay awake, because I didn't want to sound like that. Dude was out more than me and was snoring for 15 minutes at a time.

The acting was good and it looked nice. I didn't even recognize Don Cheadle.

I remember how some of my friends and family tried to get me into doing pyramid schemes like Prepaid legal.
I chuckled a couple of times, but I didn't laugh nor did anyone else in the theater. You would have thought it was just me, the snorer and this one dude who seemed to actually be entertained by the movie in the theater. Everyone else was just silent. It had a couple of interesting scenes, but not enough. Taylor Paige holding her breath

I'm not sure if other people liked it, because when the credits came on I was a poon. Other people were sitting waiting for the post credit scene. I didn't care that much. I might watch it again in streaming, but that is a huge might.

I have a feeling they're gonna do too many spinoffs for the Wick franchise ... as many more are undoubtedly coming in the future ...

The franchise began with the release of John Wick (2014), which was followed by three sequels: Chapter 2 (2017), Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019), and Chapter 4 (2023).<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Wick#cite_note-SP-1"><span>[</span>1<span>]</span></a><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Wick#cite_note-HollywoodReporter-2023Delay-2"><span>[</span>2<span>]</span></a> Various spin-offs expanded the franchise: the prequel comic book series John Wick: The Book of Rules (2017–2019), the prequel television miniseries The Continental (2023), and the spin-off film Ballerina (2025).<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Wick#cite_note-Chapter5_Deadline-3"><span>[</span>3<span>]</span></a>

Fall
2022

6/10

This film came up on my Google home page earlier this month about it being released on Netflix. It caught my attention and I watched it last night at home on Netflix.

The premise isn’t anything new, but the setting of the film is what makes it stand out.

It does a quick character development at the beginning with the main character who is the brunette. The film then goes into SHTF stage around 30 minutes in.

It’s one of those films with White People (especially White Chicks) doing something completely stupid without putting any thought into what they are about to do. It’s pointed out throughout the start of the female’s climb to the audience, that the radio tower is obviously not safe to climb, if you took about 10 minutes to make a quick observation from the ground.

The VFX/SFX of the characters on the tower look great and believable. This is definitely a film that was made for the movie theatres and not for home viewing. It probably looks great in 3-D and through VR Goggles.

There is a small twist towards the end that gives a different outlook on the events that happened 30 minutes prior.

Suspense plays out well, nothing to scare you or make you jump.

For the Foot Fiends, plenty of shots of bare WW feet.

Cubs Gooding Jr’s son has a small role in the film.

It’s an entertaining film overall.

Synopsis

Fall is a survival thriller about two best friends, Becky (Grace Caroline Currey) and Hunter (Virginia Gardner), who get stranded atop a 2,000-foot-tall abandoned radio tower in the desert after a climbing stunt goes wrong. The film follows their desperate fight to survive against vertigo, lack of supplies, and the elements, with the help of their rusty climbing skills and a drone.

I was listening to some of the entertainment podcast previews, and they were wondering who the audience would be for He-Man.

Basically saying it's a bit too old a property for alot of the younger people, as it was big in the 80s and most of us from back then are in our 40s and 50s now.

Probably would have fared better being released years ago (?)

And the Scary Movie franchise is impressive ...

Masters of the Universe

PRAISE: I will always remember going to A&S when I was a child with my mother and seeing the He Man and Battle Cat ,plus the Orko and other characters in these boxed sets in the toy department and I thought they one of the greatest things created. That's the kind of nostalgia this movie provoked from me as I smiled ear to ear throughout watching the movie. As Prince Adam/He-Man Nicholas Galitzine, does a pretty good job. Im so glad he wasn't saddled with a prolonged fish out of water thread for long periods of time. The rest of the cast including: Jared Leto as Skeletor,Camila Mendes as Teela,Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn,James Purefoy as King Randor,Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress,Idris Elba as Man-At-Arns,Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Malcolm / Fisto and a host of others never take themselves to seriously and that really helps the movie when no one truly hams it up. I liked the nods to the classic cartoon and even the new Netflix animated series. There are some effective scenes in which I said to myself yes thats exactly how a child would think and also how we all even as adults reconnect with our childhoods every now and then. The movie is campy reminding me of the adaptation of another iconic character think 1980's Flash Gordon. The campiness works especially in a couple of scenes which lean into well this is where a commercial break would have happened. I also liked that the movie hints at some things vaguely nodded to in the original animated series. Theres also a great passing of the baton moment. Even with all of the fun action sequences, jokes and innuendo (which there is a suprising amount of) the movie manages to squeeze in some heartfelt moments i enjoyed. I never felt the two hour plus running time.

PROBLEMS: Aside from an action sequence and a great quick one liner. I thought the scenes that take place on Earth were weak with painfully unfunny banter between the characters along with repetitive visuals. I thought a couple of moments were highly predictable.
