When has a team not been needing really skilled guards to win and win consistently? i mean you stated what basically every team that has won since the 80s has been...
Again what team can you name since the 80s who didnt have multiple elite guard like players that won and won consistently? Boston, Lakers, Detroit, Warriors, Bulls, Rockets, Heat, Spurs, etc etc had good great players at the guard level and or had elite guard like players at every level, so again what you are saying has always existed...My point is you need multiple guards now. A minimum of 3 or more elite level guards who can create & score at all 3 levels. How many teams right now could match OKC, the Spurs or the Pacers of last season with their guard talent?
Most teams might have 1 star guard followed by a bunch of specialists (3 & D wing, elite defender who can't shoot or a sharpshooter). That's why the Pistons are having trouble with the Magic because Cade has too much on his plate.
The Harden Rockets team couldn't get pass GS because their philosophy was surround him with a bunch of 3 & D wings. When they added another all star guard in Cp3 they got close but that wasn't enough & it didn't help that he got hurt.
Yep now that was basketball!

The Thunder & Pacers finals gave the blueprint how to win a chip now. You need to be top heavy with skilled guards & a decent rim protector.
Thats why I checked out of even watching my Rockets much in the playoffs because I knew them niggas was gonna get cooked.
The beginning of the year I said nobody stopping OKC but I think the Spurs might get them because Wemby is on a mission.
Pippen was an elite level point forward; actually helped to usher in forwards playing and defending guards!! Again bulls had 2 hall of famer top 50 players of all time guard level players! What other elite level guards did Jordan's Bulls have playing with him? Armstong, Kerr or Harper? They were solid role players but I don't consider them elite.
The Championship Rockets team didn't have elite guard play. Maxwell, Cassel & Kenny Smith were solid role players supporting Hakeem the 1st championship. Drexler helped the second year but Hakeem carried those teams. I already discussed the issue with Harden's Rockets plus the never won a ring.
If your talking 80s Boston teams, they had Bird (a forward) & great front court players. I don’t recall those championship teams loaded with elite level guards maybe I'm missing something there.
80s Pistons team I'll give you that since they had 2 all star guards & Vinny Johnson who was an elite 6th man.
Magic's Lakers teams weren't stacked with elite guards. He played with legends like Kareem & Worthy but I don't recall them loaded with super talented guards. Byron Scott & who else? Kobe's Lakers had Derrick Fisher & what other elite guards?
When LeBron (not a guard) came to Miami they had niggas like Norris Cole & Chalmers who weren't keeping opposing coaches up at night. It was the Lebron, Bosh & Wade show. Wade was basically a one man show that 1st Heat championship.
Of course you're right with the Warriors. They had arguably the greatest back court plus great 6th men guards during their championship runs.
A lot of the teams you mentioned had great big men paired with maybe 1 all star caliber guard or forwards. They weren't loaded with multiple elite play making guards. I'm talking 3 level scoring guards who could create.
Pippen was an elite level point forward; actually helped to usher in forwards playing and defending guards!! Again bulls had 2 hall of famer top 50 players of all time guard level players!
You sound utterly delusional and ridiculous when you say the Rockets didn’t have elite level guard play! The guards you named were very good and also Drexleer was on the 2nd team that won the championship ! Another elite level guard
Ainge and Dennis Johnson were considered elite level guard players during the 80s Celtics teams; and Bird had and played like a guard at times; bird initiated the Celtics offense, dude please stop for real…
Cooper and Scoot again more elite level guard players in the 80s for the lakers; put them with an top 5 player ever in magic and welp; and the other lakers dynasty had an all time great player in Kobe that’s a top 10 player arguably and arguably the 2nd best guard ever, put him with fisher who played good and fox and Brian Shaw and yes that’s elite level guard play as a team
At this point you just want to be right instead of understanding what elite level guard play is and all of those teams had them like I said . Can’t name a team that won consistently that didn’t. If you think any of the teams didn’t have elite level guard play than you just don’t know basketball and it’s all good
I’m glad that you noticed, because he’s definitely looking at you!I don’t like how he pointing at me Red![]()

Bulls Had Elite shooting in the 90sI knew you would counter with Pippen lol. Bro there's no way you're going to tell me the Bulls had MULTIPLE elite guards oustide of Jordan. Pippen was a point forward, not primarily a guard similar to Grant Hill or Lebron. Paxon, Armstrong, Kerr & them niggas were complimentary role playing guards.
You keep overlooking my main point from my initial post.
I said the very good teams in today's NBA carry 3 or more very elite play making guards that can score on all 3 levels. These guards would almost be stars if they had their own teams. Dennis Johnson was considered one of the greatest defensive guards, he wasn't a 3 level scoring guard like that on Boston.
The Rockets roster had great role playing guards. Cassel & Drexler helps your argument but remember I said the criteria is 3 or more elite level guards. Maxwell & Kenny Smith were mostly 3 & D type guards.
Again, I said many of those teams had 1 great star guard (Kobe, Jordan) but their rosters complimented them with great big men or forwards.
This is why I mentioned OKC & the Spurs of today. The Spurs got Fox, Castle, Harper, Vassel that each can go for 30+ any given night & would be stars if they had their own team. OKC has at least 3 guards that's similar to the Spurs. Hence why they dominate the league today.
Bulls Had Elite shooting in the 90s

Bulls Had Elite shooting in the 90s

Lies, Kerr and Paxon were just shorter whiter Michael Jordan's!Again, look at my original posts. They had 3 point specialists. Kerr & Paxon weren't dicing niggas up and scoring at will all over the court.

Houston Rockets "fan" who normally glazes Curry when they play the Rockets is posting bout John Paxson on the weekend after his Rockets get clipped by the GOAT. Doesnt mention the GOAT or actual game play the last 2 weeks.
