Is this a legit crossover or a fan made work? The biggest question I'm left with is how is Blade even aware of Mojo? I know they're both Marvel but AFAIK they never interacted. Mojo is an X-Men villain.

DC Announces New DC GO! Crossover Webcomic: Supergirl/Blade | DC
DC today revealed Supergirl/Blade, the next chapter in its historic digital-first crossover initiative with Marvel, arriving April 8 exclusively on DC GO!www.dc.com
Thanks for link, fam.
Is it just me or this a weird choice for a crossover? Like if it were Blade and Etrigan or Blade and Constantine, I could see it. These two characters are just strange to put together. It would be like making a Spider-Man/Big Barda crossover.
The best big event crossovers were intracompany. I'm thinking stuff like Crisis on Infinite Earths and Secret Wars. The Marvel/DC crossovers were usually just gimmicky in comparison. Its a throwback to the big event crossovers. Its for fun and interest and gaining new readers.
You should go back and read the Amalgam comics

Name two of your favorites. I'll read them ASAP if I haven't read them already. But thats what they were meant always meant to be. And they always did what they were supposed. But there have been some great company crossovers between them. Even recently.

Kevin Feige on Marvel’s Failed ‘Blade’ Reboot: ‘I Feel Like a Gigantic Loser and Failure That We Didn’t Get Off the Ground With Mahershala Ali’
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is expressing disappointment over the failed “Blade” reboot that was supposed to star Mahershala Ali as the legendary vampire slayer. Speaking on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast, Feige said bluntly: “I am feeling like a gigantic loser and failure that we didn’t get off the ground with Mahershala.” Although the studio chief admitted at the same time it was “very exciting” to have Wesley Snipes back as Blade in 2024’s “Deadpool and Wolverine.”
Marvel originally announced its “Blade” movie with Ali in July 2019. Bassam Tariq was the first director to join the movie, but he exited in September 2022 roughly two months before it was set to begin shooting. Several screenwriters came and went during development, from “Watchmen” scribe Stacy Osei-Kuffour to Michael Starrbury. Yann Demange stepped in as the movie’s director after Tariq’s exit, but Demange ended up dropping out in June 2024.
Variety reported in November 2023 that “Blade” had gone through at least five writers. One person familiar with the script changes said the story at one point morphed into a narrative led by women and filled with life lessons. Speculation at the time said that Marvel was still looking to make the film but on a budget of less than $100 million. Marvel Studios officially took “Blade” off its release calendar in fall 2024.
Amid the film’s development struggles, Ali’s interest in playing Blade has never wavered. He told Variety on the “Jurassic World Rebirth” red carpet last summer: “I’m ready. Let them know I’m ready.”
Speaking to press in July 2025, Feige explained how the prolonged delays on “Blade” were a symptom of Marvel’s “over-expansion” into Disney+ streaming content where “for the very first time ever, quantity trumped quality.” When Marvel began to reevaluate its development process, the “Blade” movie was one of the projects that stalled.
“We didn’t want to simply just put a leather outfit on him and have him start killing vampires. It had to be unique,” Feige explained. “It fell into the time when we started pulling back and saying, ‘Only accept insanely great.’ And it wasn’t ‘insanely great’ at the time. We didn’t feel like, as we often do, you can have a good script and make it a great script through production. We didn’t feel confident that we could do that on ‘Blade,’ and we didn’t want to do that to Mahershala and didn’t want to do that to us.”
I’m cool with that this !![]()

I'd be okay with it if Disney/Marvel gave someone outside of Disney a chance to work with it. Someone who would be all in like Ryan Reynolds with Dead Pool.I’m cool with that this !

I’m not sure how Deadpool applies to blade; Deadpool was is a known property that was already made and scripted and made a lot of money! Wasn’t a reboot property like blade; also It was 2 movies in before Disney got the property; also disney was in transition when it was trying to do blade so I think that played a lot into it. Also Reynolds has a lot more pull and a bigger star than Ali is; which plays a role in all of this as well; don’t think Deadpool and blade are a fair comparison and or an appropriate comparison…SHORT VERSION- Ryan Reynolds went on a full social media blitz when he decided he wanted a second chance at playing Deadpool the correct way. Remember, "the merc with a mouth" was never allowed to speak in his first appearance in Wolverine. Fox wasn't interested in Ryan doing any new Deadpool projects.
At some point, Fox paid for some test footage that end up getting "leaked" and social media went wild over it. Eventually Ryan and the first director, Tim Miller, made a monster hit movie because Fox let Ryan and Tim do what they wanted to do.
When it came time for the second film, Fox was more than happy to oblige. Ryan had full control over everything. He even fired Tim when he felt Tim would hinder his vision of how the the sequel should be made.
When Disney got involved, there were a lot of questions about whether or not they would be willing to make another R-rated Deadpool, which would be the only way Reynolds would have done it. Eventually, Disney gave him the greenlight to not only do a third film, but include Wolverine as his frenemy in the movie. It should be noted that prior to this, Reynolds made all kinds of social media jabs and jokes over the years about Hugh Jackman and his Wolverine character. Jackman, in on the joke, would respond with a set of jabs at Ryans' expense. It was basically a part of Reynolds social media blitz to get Jackman's Wolverine into a Deadpool movie.
During production, it was rumored that Disney tried to insert a lot of ideas into the story that, lets just say, were similar to what they tried to do with the Blade script (I refuse to say the W-word). At this point, Reynolds was able to tell the studio to fuck off and leave him alone. They left him alone to complete his vision. As a result, Disney got roughly a 1.5 billion box office hit out of Reynolds.
Hope that all makes sense.
