When Donald Trump fails to achieve his desired outcome in court, his reactions consistently exhibit outrage, insults, and claims that the system is rigged.

This instance was no exception.

Following the judges' decision not to rule in his favor regarding the tariff dispute, Trump purportedly became enraged, labeling the decision a disgrace. Not a disagreement or a legal debate, but a disgrace. In his worldview, any ruling that fails to validate his position is inherently corrupt.

However, this perspective is not in line with the principles of the rule of law. The primary function of courts is not to shield a politician's ego, but to interpret the Constitution and apply the law, even when the outcome may bruise someone's pride.

This is particularly important when the individual in question holds significant power. The independence of the judiciary is the backbone of our democracy, ensuring that no president, regardless of their level of anger or fury, can exert undue influence.

What we are witnessing is not a demonstration of strength, but rather a tantrum.

A leader confident in their legal standing would argue their case and respect the outcome.

Conversely, a leader insecure about their authority lashes out at the referees.

When judges become enemies solely due to unfavorable rulings, it is not a defense of America, but rather an undermining of its principles. The rule of law holds greater significance than one individual's anger.

If court decisions are only deemed legitimate when they favor those in power, then justice ceases to be justice, instead becoming obedience.

This is a scenario that the Constitution was designed to prevent.
