LOL my point is going farther left doesn't mean anything. What's a farther left issue. Universal Healthcare, taxing the rich. Give me one issue that they don't already promote that would cause them to be going in your words farther left. What you call farther left is in fact going for the shit that is mainstream left. Universal Healthcare, Education, civil rights. So is Bernie Sanders the far left?
The problem that most democrats have is the ineffectiveness of the democratic party to achieve these goals. Voting for someone who will more aggressively go for universal healthcare is not going farther left. We use these labels not to describe the actual issues but to put people in boxes so we don't have to discuss the actual issues.
Electability = We ain't gonna fight for universal healthcare but so hard because you know electability
Far left = I'm going to fight for universal healthcare.

Although I am in agreement with most of what you said here, I suggest that education, or lack thereof, or an abundance of miseducation- whichever you prefer, is the root of the problem.
Socialism, communism, and "far left" are all terms that identify and VILIFY any concept that threatens capitalism.
The ignorance of the definition of these terms on the part of the vast majority of the American public is by design.
Capitalism exists for the benefit of those who have capital. By definition, a capitalist is not concerned with the well being of the general populace. Capitalism does not allow for social welfare. The "rugged individual" archetype exists to keep us believing that depending upon one another is immoral and impractical. It is unnatural, but serves the purpose of fueling disdain for things such as a social safety net.
