BREAKING: NBC forced to release urgent statement over editing crowd boos of JD Vance from Winter Olympics broadcast claims

A statement has been released after claims that boos aimed at Vice President JD Vance, 41, were edited during the Winter Olympics.
The network is denying that it edited crowd noises during Friday’s Opening Ceremony in Milan, Italy.
Vice President Vance was audibly booed inside Milan’s San Siro as he appeared on the stadium’s big screen.
Vance appeared alongside his pregnant wife Usha, 40, in the stadium’s stands.
This could be clearly heard on CBC’s coverage in Canada.
But viewers in the United States watching on NBC have reported no such noise.
The discrepancy has led many fans to ask whether NBC altered its coverage to silence the boos.
However, NBC is denying making any changes.
“We did not edit any crowd audio for our presentation of the Opening Ceremony,” an NBC Sports spokesperson said to Awful Announcing.

NBC has noted that there will be differences between the live and primetime broadcasts of the event.
This is because the primetime broadcast has been edited for brevity.
But the network has urged viewers to compare both feeds and draw their own conclusions.
“The primetime replay and the world feed replay of the Opening Ceremony are both currently available to watch on Peacock,” the NBC spokesperson added.
Vice President Vance has remained a controversial figure during his appearance at the Winter Olympics.
He sat alongside YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, 29, while watching Team USA‘s women’s hockey team on Saturday.

President Donald Trump bashed Team USA Olympic skier Hunter Hess for expressing “mixed emotions” while representing the Stars and Stripes at the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympic games.
“U.S. Olympic Skier, Hunter Hess, a real Loser, says he doesn’t represent his Country in the current Winter Olympics,” Trump posted to Truth Social Sunday morning.
“If that’s the case, he shouldn’t have tried out for the Team, and it’s too bad he’s on it. Very hard to root for someone like this. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Multiple Olympians — including US figure skater Amber Glenn and British-American skier Gus Kenworthy — have criticized the Trump administration at this year’s Games, particularly for its polarizing approach to immigration enforcement.
But it was the 27-year-old Hess, a fixture on the US national team since 2017, who received a direct response from the commander-in-chief.
Speaking with reporters on Friday, Team USA skiers — particularly Hess — sparked controversy by explaining that wearing the American flag doesn’t signify his support of everything “going on” back in the States.
“It brings up mixed emotions to represent the US right now,” said the freestyle skier. “It’s a little hard, there’s obviously a lot going on that I’m not the biggest fan of and I think a lot of people aren’t.

I hope that when people look at athletes competing in the Olympics, they realize that that’s the America that we’re trying to represent.”
Hess’s comments were met with stern pushback on social media, seemingly evoking a response from former Olympic silver medalist MyKayla Skinner.
