RIP to her...I know her and John Candy are up there having a good time laughing at America right now.
She damned sure made my name popular. 
I never get tired of hearing it said exactly the way Catherine O'Hara said it. RIP.

That was perfect casting as Kevin's mother. She was really believable

In 2023 Got to be an extra in a scene with her in a film called Pain Hustlers. She looked good for her age. Always thought she was a good actress. Btw, I didn’t know she was from Canada like John Candy. They had good chemistry in that short scene in Home Alone.

I'm pretty damn sure that John Candy came up with that on the fly.
He did.
They said he appeared on the film as a favor but could only work a day so damn near worked 24 hours straight and did a lot of ad libbing including that scene.

I remember hearing about that too. If I remember correctly John Candy got like $414 for that day
