Booker T says TNA’s AMC premiere felt like an infomercial:“I got the same sentiment as a lot of other people as far as it could have been shot a little bit different. I don't know if some of the shots were done earlier in the day when this is a big night. It was a lot of commercials. Three matches. So it definitely seemed kind of like an infomercial a little bit for the new spot on AMC, which I understand that as well. Couple of guys had visa issues like Leon Slater, nothing you could do about that. Those issues can happen and you think you can fix them and you just can't and time runs out.But directing is something that I think a wrestling show needs and that director has to be the guy that's accountable for a lot of stuff that goes on that show, literally. Because that part of the show right there, only one person is going to be in charge of that job trying to put all that together and then quarterbacking that thing. It's not an easy job. I don't know who's the quarterback for that show, but that might have been the missing piece.”
That's an interesting take. Especially coming from an active wrestler.
100% correct, they need to find a way to incorporate more house shows into the schedule so that the wrestlers (especially younger wrestlers) can get more reps and work on their in-ring.
House shows also gives wrestlers a chance to try new things to see if they will work in front of a crowd.
I get why house shows have been reduced because they don't make as much money as RAW/Smackdown or the PLEs but they are still needed.
AEW could REALLY stand to have house shows since a lot of guys still need to work on their fundamentals in the ring.
I'm sure that's where he'll end up. He'll get a big pop on his debut and then will be just another guy on the roster after a couple of months.
I mentioned this when it happened, but I'll repeat it for the slow folks in the back, lol.
R-Truth was never "released" as he puts it, WWE chose not to renew his contract once it was set to run out (which was still months ahead).
From watching 'Unreal' WWE seemingly wanted to keep him around, but perhaps at either the same pay or with a pay cut.
Truth got in his feelings and posted that he got "released", which was not the case.
Either way it worked out for Truth and he got a new deal out of it.
That's great for a guy his age, who is a mid-carder at best and barely ever wrestles.
