I enabled the system option, check it out and see what it does.
I read a comment on the Xenforo support board that said,
"system changes automatically based on your time"
Maybe it changes with your OS's light or Dark mode. let me know.

So what you are saying is on system the board follows what your OS is set to. (Light or Dark)
Were you having problems before when you set it manually to light or dark on the website.

The reason I'm asking is people on here complain about everything, but I never had any complaint
from members being unable to set their preference to light or dark mode.

For a minute, the board would automatically adjust when my OS would switch to dark mode at night but I got signed out when I cleared my cache and the board stopped switching with OS.

The reason I'm asking is people on here complain about everything, but I never had any complaint
from members being unable to set their preference to light or dark mode.

I never lost the option to use light or dark mode, I just wanted the automatic switching or "system" option.

Also I noticed that the board would automatically switch when I was logged out.
