For those who didn't grow up privileged, name something you thought was a luxury when you were a kid.

A computer. When I grew up, you were living good if you had 1 desktop computer in your household. Apple Computers and IBM conputers were expensive for a working class family.

I tell my parents thank you all the time as well. A lot of times I can look back too and see how good we had it. From us going to private school, to always having nice stuff and even living in nice areas, now we still didn't go on vacation like I heard other kids but we did go to the Amusement parks, etc.
I had this discussion with a friend from around my way less than a month ago about growing up. He was like saying we didn't have it good growing up. Same guy who father worked for the city making like 6 figs and his mom was a nurse.. same dude who had a freestyle bike, scooter, skateboard, probably every vidgame system from early 80-90s.. parents spoiled him..as I always said for the most part all we had to do is not fuck up .. literally parents pretty much say play in this area and don't walk into the jungle.. unfortunately him and his older bro walked into the jungle and his bro got killed and he almost lost his life.. but it was cause they went into the environment that they should stayed away from.. so my argument was if ya didn't cross them borders neither of them negative situations would of happened.. sometimes you need to avoid environments and situations that are harmful to your existence.. when you stayed in a particular area you was good when you stepped out of it negative

Flying on a plane for a vacation, staying in hotel instead of a motel, super sizing any meal, izod and polo shirts, brand name jeans, timberland shoes, a computer and I grew up middle class but the people in my neighborhood were middle to upper middle to rich...all black folks.

I realize after talking to other folks all this shit I named I didn't have as a kid but eventually got when I was in high school, they never had and they had to think about not eating, no ac, no heat, daddy not coming home... So I was blessed but the lack of material things I saw the other kids have as a kid made u feel like I was missing out.

In high school the black kids were wearing Giorgio Armani, Coach, Gucci, Timberland, MCM etc...i was happy with my Generra, Union Bay, Diadoras and Coca a Cola sweaters...my folks would never spend that type of cash on that stuff .in retrospect I'm glad they didn't
Funny thing when I was a kid I cared more about vidgames than clothing, so my elementary yrs most my clothes wasn't really name brand other than some shit I got from the gap from my aunt , older cuz.. I did have some sports shit.. but overall I chose games over clothing.. it's funny some of my elementary classmates didn't think or know I lived that middle class lifestyle until 1 of my classmates decided to ride the bus back with me to my crib.. that nig lost his mind when he stepped into my crib and the next day the nig was in class like black been hiding that he's fucking rich LMAO.. nig was going off about me having 60+ Nintendo games, me having all the Nintendo power magazines, me having the Nintendo robot, me having cable and a nice size color tv, my big box of toys, my built in library in the living room, bike, scooter, scateboard, etc . He was like this guy's been lying to us all this time with the way he dresses, he's fucking rich... That moment always has me laugh to this day.. than later yrs I would here that shit to especially from chicks( elementary, junior high)

i was gonna say this

finally got one as an adult and it was the worst thing i ever had in my mouth.

and i accidentally bit a bug once.
Bro, you know they changed all the ingredients and shit right? This shit don't taste like it did when we was kids anyway, Little Debbie's the same way. That shit tastes nasty as fuck now

This is a huge problem in the black community. We have difficulty just BEING. Always in fear of our black car being taken away. Always someone saying we act white Are we talk white or we like white shit. Shit like this has Theo Huxtable hanging out in the projects with Lil Wayne even though his parents afforded him an opportunity that he didn't have to be in the jungle, he couldn't wait to get into the jungle.

I've seen a thousand times if I've seen it once. It's so disheartening because so many young men bring the projects to the middle of class, bring the jungle to the suburbs when they didn't have any business being anywhere near the jungle

Imma keep it real the talking white shit was cause some dudes had zero base in their voice and really sounding like a cac.. That's where the you sound white shit I always heard when saying that to some black people... As far as the jungle crack era was a lot of fast money and even though some dudes needs was taken care of there were individuals that was seduced into wanting to make several hundred a day or more so they jumped into that life no fully understanding gift and curse.. Gift money, flashy things, maybe certain demographic of chicks.. The curse jail, jackboys, jealousy, kill or be killed and if you messed around and tried the product now you might end up becoming and addict and all those problems... The other part of the jungle hanging out in hoods that's not good for your health, the draw might be chicks, hanging out, that's how some people got caught up.. Getting robbed, fucking with the wrong chick, wrong place wrong time.. As far as the two individuals I was talking about the crack era money drew the older 1 in and the younger 1 went to a Project party and ended up getting caught up in drama that had nothing to do with him but got caught in the crossfire
