On Thursday, a jury decided the fate of a man who shot and killed another man at a west Houston fast-food restaurant more than a year and a half ago.Anthony Martin Landry, 57, was found guilty of murder on Wednesday. The jury spent only 20 minutes deliberating the verdict. It’s not “Over” a fish sandwich.

It’s over another customer asking him to calm down. They argued, the argument got physical and the killer was pushed to the ground.

He then went to his car, got his gun and started shooting.

According to the outlets, prosecutors said in court that Landry began to argue with restaurant employees after he said his Filet-O-Fish sandwich was missing a patty, using profanity and demanding a refund for his order.

Limmer then intervened and told him to stop yelling at the employee, and the two men had a verbal exchange before Limmer shoved Landry out the door, causing him to fall to the ground. Landry then left, got a gun from his car and shot Limmer multiple times.

The fish got cocaine it, especially when they have lint. I get the 2 for $7 fauthfully and I ai t religious.

Fly hack, next time it comes around get the 2 for $7 then the $5 McChicken sandwich for your fries and drink. It os $4 cheaper plus you get extra nuggets and a chicken sandwich if you want to give it to someone homeless.

Still a crazed situation

Damn, bro not finna see another McDonalds for the rest of his life over the fish sandwich and ensuing tussle.

Some people just need to calm the fuck down, going around in life like someone always out to get them with a huge unnecessary chip on their shoulder.

Back around '94 or 95 we would bus it home from junior high. While waiting to transfer to the next bus just past the halfway mark, sometimes we'd have to kill time so there were a few options. A 7-11, McDonald's, comic book shop and arcade. We were too young for the sketchy massage parlor that was some type of Lotus Butterfly or whatever.

The McDonald's was next door to the arcade and drew an interesting mix of people. A few local high schools, gangsters, etc. One afternoon around 3:30pm some kid got stabbed. Some other kid got curb stomped a few months later out front. All I could think was "I just want a McChicken and to wait on this next bus. I can't be getting stabbed."

Made a mental note moving forward to focus on the 7-11 and comic book shop instead of McD's / arcade. They had some video games in the back so we'd usually get some junk food & chill there away from the stabbings & boots to the face.

They just always stunk to me so I couldn't imagine eating one.

Agreed. So much easier to just make one at home with better ingredients. As fam' would say - there's "no love" on those assembly line burgers and sandwiches. You get the thin burger or patty, maybe $0.01 of shredded lettuce, and a piece of processed cheese, lol. While the price keeps climbing year after year.

Compare that to a burger a coworker's made at work a few times. Toasted brioche bun, all the fixings (carmelized onions, lettuce, tomato, real cheese, nice burger patty, etc). One of the best burgers I've ever had.

Cousin used to work at one in the 90s. Question ... the "special sauce" on the Big Mac is still Thousand Island salad dressing, right? That's what cousin J' said, lol.

:dunno: To this day I have never eaten a Big Mac with Mac sauce. My two main issues, in order of discontent, is that pink Mac sauce and those meager patties. Albeit from time to time, on the sneak tip, I would make a double-decker quarter pounder with three slices of cheese.

That sneak burger definitely sounds way better!

Gotta love that free food on the job. Love that shit at my place of work too. Went in on Friday and a coworker saved me some chicken & veggies. Had coffee and fruit. Nice slice of coconut cream pie too (I laughed when I heard what type of pie it was).

Hey man people pay for convenience, but I hear ya.

Agreed. Pops said back in the day one of the most frustrating things is that everyone is seemingly always "in a rush" and convenience comes at a cost.

An example would be a parent's driving down the street with their kid(s). It's sometime late-afternoon / early evening after school and before or after sports or other extra curriculars. The kid(s) wants that burger and fries, and the drive thru's calling. The parent doesn't have leftovers available at home, and doesn't feel like the hassle of stopping for groceries and then going home to prepare something. So it's easier to just get the quick fix. And then that becomes the habit / norm ... and it's cheaper than buying groceries (decades back when fast food prices were better).

You naked it, that's what many go through. They don't have the food, or the ingredients readily available so they go to a food spot to pick it up.

And soon that becomes the standard a their lifestyle.

Agreed. One of the best things to do is to try and set aside time for meal prep. Make big batches of stuff to refrigerate / freeze - especially for families - to be able to reheat.

I don't miss those crazy hours of high school or college. Practices before school / practices or games after school plus other sports practices in the evening, and game(s) on the weekend.

Leaving the house by 6 or 7am and getting home by 8 - 9pm, and then eating / showering / homework. Erratic meals or snacking schedule, etc.

Agreed. The whole work to live / live to work perspective.

Sometimes I think about how much of a rat race it all is, and how cultures / societies differ so much.
