Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair

It's Kill BIll 1 and 2 :dunno: If you haven't seen it in a minute like me, it was a great watch.

They made it unrated, so it's a lot of missing body parts and cartoon blood when it comes to the sword play.

One issue is that, it probably could have been cut down about a good 20 minutes. It had some pacing issues. The foot shots and some of the scenes could have been condensed. Especially part two, because it's less action. It also has a 15 minute intermission, which is cool.

It's a end credits scene that's about 5 to 10 minutes long that's entertaining, but I'm not sure you need to wait 15 minutes for the credit to watch it. You can catch it online. It's some added to the animation for Pretty Rikki and it's in color for the Crazy 88's.

I will say Ben and Matt, fore the most part, do good movies...

Sicario: Day of the Soldado
2018

7/10

I had rewatched the first film about a couple of months ago and reviewed it somewhere on this forum.

I rewatched the sequel last night at home with my sons on Prime. I rewatched these films mainly cuz it was announced that a 3rd film will be going into development possibly soon and my sons had not seen the films.

I’m not gonna get into it, but I will point out the premise of this film is more relevant today than when it debuted in 2018. The film went into pre-production when Trump first got into office, so it didn’t really connect with what he was doing in his first term fully.

Now in his 2nd term, this film’s main plot revolving around human trafficking hits it right on the nail. It’s co-written by Taylor Sheridan who puts out the top series on Paramount+ currently. Like all his productions, they have messages throughout that are not presented as “preachy”. He delivers his messages in quick comments by the actors are through their actions.

The film ends with Josh Brolin (Matt) and Benicio del Toro (Alejandro) officially going separate ways after Matt sees Alejandro getting shot and left for dead. This sets it up for the final scene with Alejandro meeting the teenager who shot him.

It looks like Alejandro will be building an Army of soldiers and getting revenge against Matt and the U.S. Government in Part 3. Hopefully Emily Blunt returns being there was some issues I believe kept her out of this film.

Definitely looking forward to the next film.:16:

Good to see their sustained career success. They got off to a great start with mainstream recognition ... nearly 30 years ago now.

The first movie was definitely stronger. Looks like a 3rd one is planned at some point.

Agreed. I saw the 2nd one on home video years back. It was ok. The 1st one set the bar pretty damn high though as people often reference the tension / cinematography in that one.

I'm surprised they've waited so long to eventually do a 3rd one. The 2nd one was back in 2018.

5.5/10

I had come across this flick a few months back after watching the film ‘Eenie Meanie’. Actress Samara Weaving had caught my eye with her looking like a Hoodrat. I went thru my cable box looking for other projects she did and this caught my eye.

I watched it last night on the road on tubi.

This film is basically a different telling of the ‘Rage Virus’ genre. Along with it, it is a satire on office corruption/politics. The comedy is not LOL funny around the office corruption/politics, but humorous.

The film initially starts out with an explanation of the rage virus. From there for the first 25 minutes, it’s all character introduction/development. After the 25 minute mark the film goes into SHTF status.

Violence is graphic on the level of ‘Deadpool’ films. It’s heavy on profanity.

For the Foot Fiends, there are a few scenes showing Samara’s feet, highly recommend watching those scenes in slo-mo.

There is no nudity of Samara, she has a sex scene, nothing is shown.

Overall, it’s an interesting film. It’s a ‘See It Once, No Interest In Seeing It Again’. The film does come to a conclusion, but somewhat leaves off for a possible sequel.

Synopsis

Derek Cho is having a really bad day. After being unjustly fired from his job, he discovers that the law firm's building is under quarantine for a mysterious and dangerous virus. Chaos erupts throughout the office as the victims of the disease begin acting out their wildest impulses. Joining forces with a former client who has a grudge of her own, Derek savagely fights tooth and nail to get to the executives on the top floor and settle the score once and for all.

Never could force myself to get through this one. I think I started it but there were a lot that blur for me. I think another called severance (not the Apple series), high rise (with Loki actor) and another one or two maybe that all kind of seem similar. Don’t even know which I’ve started if not all - I do know - I have finished none lol. Thanks for another solid review!!

You should also check out Guns Akimbo with Samara and Daniel Radcliffe. Its dope.

Anyone been able to see the various revival screenings - not fathom events - that both regal and amc as well as imax have been running?

It’s been some great shit. September regal had classics. October was horror shit. And last 2 months have been holiday and random shit. IMAX has THE SHINING now and I missed SIGN O’ THE TIMES in August. There is the big ones like KILL BILL and Back to the Future that go on full re release runs too.

Just curious if any others have been enjoyed?

I saw Sign O' The Times. It was nice to see it in that format.

If I Had Leg's I Would Kick You

PRAISE: This movie about mother hood and the pile ons of life will definitely be traumatizing for some and a reflection of the viewers life because we can all relate to being pushed to the edge as soon as we step out into the world. Trying to care for a sick child, a home literally falling apart,an absentee spouse and trying to have a career are on full display. I definitely felt something for Linda portrayed greatly by Rose Byrne as she deals with the aforementioned and several annoying to ultra obnoxious characters she's forced to deal with. Director and writer Mary Bronstein knows how to put the audience in the shoes of Linda as the movie leans into stop the world i want to get off mode several times. Is anyone listening to me or respecting everything I'm going through? Does anyone care? So many darkly comedic scenes and the transition scenes are sometimes stomach churning. Even trying to obtain the most simple things in life can be a chore and then some and it walks hand in hand with anxiety of course a person is going to space out here and there.

PROBLEMS: Definitely some repetitiveness I could have done without. The pacing could have been better in several scenes.

Scale of 1 to 10 a 7½

Credit to actors like Daniel Radcliffe and Robert Pattinson. They have varied their careers over the years, and avoided getting type-cast after the international success of the Harry Potter and Twilight franchises respectively.
