I really liked this movie. Definitely an odd twist.
The thing
I remember hearing all the early Oscar buzz that year from the critics who had seen it at the movie festivals. My mom went to see it when it debuted, and asked me had I heard about it beforehand. I told her yeah - plenty of buzz in recent months. She was surprised, and pleased at how packed the theater was when she went.
I watched it a month or two later. Rainy cold night at home. Really enjoyed the twist as it was a bit of an "oh shit" moment as there was plenty of running time to go, and it felt like another movie was starting up, haha.
Rewatched it the following year with my pops.

That's a good question regarding the whole "Whodunit" genre and I'm really not sure?
They did make this one:
And Then There Were None (1945 film) based on Agatha Christie book and you really don't want to know what the original title of "Ten Little Indians" was.

Agreed. I had heard good things about it and checked it out years after the fact and it delivered. Just looking at the Wikipedia now - hadn't realized it was filmed locally.
