I had to learn this early on in life as a kid growing up in the cass corridor in detroit..if you aint that one, then you aint the mother fucking one...You can tell Captain America never read the first section of The Fire Next Time by Jimmy Baldwin.
Jimmy said he had been seen unemployed college-educated black folks huddle in groups smoking, drinking, and doing the Billie Holiday. And James has been dead. The question is is lil Jimmy dead? So when you read of college-educated Ghanaians doing funky dope to cope, you see the patterns. If you go from the beaches of Tobago to Scarborough, you see unemployed black folks on dope. Drive around Tobago and you'll feel like Marty McFly.
Why would an indian family have their spot invalidated by you? Who the fuck are you? Folks want a good government job or to go away to the colonial motherlands for jobs. Until we realize a couple of things, we will continue to suffer because of our greed.I always agreed w this except there is one flaw in his argument.
Those who are great will most likely be successful, except they account for a small fraction of .01% of the population.
Those that achieve from mediocrity to almost great……that’s where nepotism kicks in.
The more places I work, the more I realize that Dwight’s are mediocre at best.
They are arrogant and self-confident all while not being held accountable for their actions.
‘Maybe you just suck at what you do?”

Imagine sitting in a school in North Philadelphia listening to teachers like the ones assigned to me. Joshua Myers had a line that black scholars really weren't capable of standing up to their white mentors in his book Of Black Study. Most black children are incapable of standing up to the tyrants who buy the milk and cereal and remind you who placed the roof over heads and shit. I got into nursing because I didn't listen to my parents or teachers. I saw a story this week that a school superintendent in Texas is being paid half a million dollars. Black brother too.I had to learn this early on in life as a kid growing up in the cass corridor in detroit..if you aint that one, then you aint the mother fucking one...
I'm talking about Trinidad and Tobago and every colonial outpost. They left the Indians in charge. Why would the indians give up their spot for your black ass? Why? Y'all ain't ever read Aimee Cesair? Our resentment is part of the god damn plan.No idea wtf you’re talking about…….again
That’s all

I wish this was true... even the brilliant and those with great talent need a bit of luck - like the right people around them as children and teensThose who are great will most likely be successful,
My father graduated from Bishops. His family… let me not tell y'all who I am. His mother worked in Trinidad for the government. Son became a crackhead. In Tobago.lack of unity in the country among the people - keeps Trinidad from truly nationalizing oil gas petroleum by-products
its the same on almost every former colony with exports of raw material
imo - Ms Motley in Barbados was only able to push reform and anti colonialism because of the island being low in production of resources needed in Europe
