The Official 2025/2026 NBA Season Thread OKC Thunder NBA Champs Who’s Got Next?

I loved the first year when it was called the in-season tournament. Ever since they've been calling it the Emirates cup, all I can see is Saudi Arabia princes throwing their oil money around.

Just as bad as those 1st couple of WWE Night of Champions PPVs in Saudi Arabia when the women were forced to wear full body leather motorcycle suits.

The branding takes something away from it, but Adam Silver clearly doesn't about anything except the bottom line. And the Saudis clearly have deeper pockets than the average NBA fans, so Silver is only playing to them :dunno:
what do you think of getting the losing teams to play for the top draft pick???

gilbert arenas had a better idea... 16 teams make the playoffs (including the winners of the play in games) that leaves 14 teams...well but them in a bracket and make them play for the top draft picks.

Expanding off that idea...the winner gets the number1 pick, loser gets 2 the team with the best record of the worst teams gets number3 and on down the line for the top 14 picks.

That way tanking during the season doesnt work since you gotta ball out to win the top pick. It extends the season for the league, its exciting because theres no more fuck it and cancun mentality... theres STILL something to play for. And its easier to understand and get into.

While 16 teams are playing for the chip..14 teams are playing for the top picks.

what yall think?
It's difficult, because with that system the lowest of the low teams will stay in losing purgatory forever. It's like the class system in America.
ASKED AI: what teams in the nba consistently have the worst records last 10 years?

AI:
The Detroit Pistons have had the worst record in the NBA over the last 10 years, with a record of 299-497 as of late 2025. The Minnesota Timberwolves also have had one of the lowest win percentages in NBA history, though their position can change depending on the time frame, and Wikipedia notes that the Detroit Pistons and Philadelphia 76ers have had some of the longest losing streaks in the league's history.
  • Detroit Pistons: Have the worst overall record over the last 10 years, with a record of 299-497 as of late 2025. They also hold the record for the longest losing streak in a single season.
  • Minnesota Timberwolves: Have had one of the lowest win-loss percentages in NBA history, with a record of 1,196–1,680, but this is for their entire franchise history, not just the last decade.
  • Philadelphia 76ers: The team has experienced significant losing streaks, including one that lasted 28 games across two seasons, 2014–15 and 2015–16.
and thats WITH the lottery system.... Playoff For The PICKS! © would likely have a better affect because all the bad teams would be playing each other and on any given sunday... and it would be more exciting because teams would have more control of their fate than hoping on pingpong balls in a fishbowl.

now imagine a team celebrating like this when they win the Number1 Draft Pick after a long bad season...

NOW that makes sense! :giggle:

36.5 point difference between the Warriors with Draymond on the court vs off. +17 with him, damn near -20 without him.

But some people-- *cough* @excommunicatedfansonlyplease *cough* *cough* @dtownshatinest *cough* -- will still tell you that Curry is the only one who matters and Draymond's been riding his coattails. :smh:

Dude is an unquestionable top 75 player of all-time and essential to every title they've won this century. They cannot win without him.

Stop tagging me in shit like this I never said Draymon didn’t matter stop being weird

Okay, my bad, I will try to more properly address your hating where appropriate.
That part. You aint' gotta make shit up I said to catch me hating I got plenty of shit out there. Now I did say I can't stand that gargoyle. Now that I did say. I said I wish someone would knock his head off too shout out to Jordan Poole because should've did it.

Lmao!

This is what happens when people don't watch the games. We've been playing MUCH faster this year. Between Wagner, Bane, Suggs, Jones, and Black, Banchero doesn't have the ball nearly as much anymore.

He has his issues, but that's not what's holding us back.

Our issues this year are:

1. Defense giving up too many points
2. Missed free throws
3. Turnovers
4. 3 point percentage
5. Bad coaching decisions

The coach is more responsible for that list than Paolo is.

Was hearing KOC talk about him on his pod and how his game has gone down. I didn't realize how much his game has dropped

He's become Russ from deep with his outside shooting

Only he doesn't drive to the basket anymore and plays like a old man, even though he's only 26. He only drives 25% of the time when he used to drive to the basket 50% of the time at his peak. Russ meanwhile has never been below 40%.

The South Carolina players(Zion and Ja) :smh:

I think he's as athletic, but I think it's mental and he's scared of getting hurt.

He doesn't have the Allen Iverson attitude where he gives it 110%.

Could be smart, to be fair— didn’t he vow not to dunk last season (and immediately started dunking again, but still) because of health concerns?

“Scared” could be appropriate assessment of his limitations and the difference between a long career and a shorter one.

I knew that aggressive play style wouldn't work longterm, but damn. I didn't expect him to clearly be a state of regression this early in his career.

The clippers arena intro is OD

My homie went recent, he said it unreal

Everything tied to your bank card, face recognition is crazy. Checking out don’t require you to pay the clerk. “Hey mama, I got a coke, some skittles and chips”
“Ok sir enjoy the game”
“I don’t have to pay for it”
“You already did”

Then his phone alerts him the account had a payment

Each seat have a number of phone charging ports

Etc….
