just a lot of dissapointment waiting to happen
He made 105 3s in a row during a practice run. Steph is an anomaly.
Even some of the greatest NBA shooters have acknowledged that his shot is superior to theirs. It's an unorthodox release, along with quickness, distance, and creativity mixed in one.
This is a long drawn-out example of the nature versus nurture argument
You really think Steph shared all his secrets? But like @knightmelodic said, can’t any kid study Steph’s release? I’ve seen video of Steph explaining his technique.
There’s nothing genetic about making 105 3s in a row in practice. Quickness is an in-game advantage not relevant to the example you gave and everything else comes down to study and practice.
Do you think Steph is just naturally gifted at shooting more quickly and that is the only difference between him and everyone else? I really think he has practiced more and maybe practiced smarter (like the saying goes, “work smarter, not harder”) than everyone else when it comes to shooting.
Let’s not forget that Steph also has the best free throw percentage in history. That has nothing to do with quickness. I think that is strictly work ethic.
Why?
I think Steph obviously had an advantage as the son of an NBA player who was a great three point shooter…
Family focus: How the Currys are leading the second generation of NBA athletes
By Tom Haberstroh
February 15, 2019
This year’s All-Star Weekend in Charlotte will be a family affair, a celebration of House Curry, if you will.
Stephen Curry will participate in the 3-point contest with his brother, Seth, a guard for the Portland Trail Blazers, marking the first time that brothers will compete together in the marquee event. Not only that, the Currys will let it fly in the same city where...

But the Ball kids all had an advantage as sons of a non-NBA player who really pushed them hard to be great pros.
Guidance is a major factor in any human being’s development and ultimate success. Guidance is crucial in whether someone becomes a hard worker.
And, of course, 6’3 is above average height and an advantage in making it to the NBA.
But I think putting in the work is the main factor. I think anyone can replicate Steph’s shooting and handle by working equally hard.
Its not about none of that; its about Steph being born with something others are not!! He has perfected or created a type of perfection with what was given to him by the universe!! so it doesnt matter how hard someone else might practice; if they aint born with what Steph was born with then it wont matter...If you understand geometry, maybe trig, IDK, you understand why his shot is so consistent.
By shooting a higher arc he actually increases the percentage of the basket for the ball to go through.
I'm sure there are videos on it somewhere. So, yes, if someone were to have the talent to play ball and started young to shoot high-arcing shots they'd equal or surpass curry.

OP sometimes just like creating drama and like comparing shitThe answer to your question is both yes and no. And yes\no.
Can a person train to make lots of 3's in a row and be a great 3 point shooter?
Yes.
Can a person train to be the greatest 3 point shooter ever while playing at and against the highest level of competition?
I'm going to say no.
Ok maybe yes and no. But there's too much to type and I don't know OP like that.![]()
; but you answered it correctly (yes and no)...Steph has gained probably 20 pounds since joining the league. He'a also changed his jumpshot.Them dude perfect cats do shit like this all the time. Jokic will pull up from the other stripe. I'm a pretty cold shooter myself. That dude that be like, ''I understand it now,'' be pullin off the wildest shit with a ball. Point being what makes steph great is a high ass basketball iq, shot selection, and consistancy.
Notice he has never tried to beef up. That niggas arms and legs have had the same tone and size since he came into the league. That is a major part of his consistency. Ask any shooter how getting too brollic will totally fuck up your shooting game. Man's def understands angles, his billards game is prolly insane depending on how many collisions he can preload.
Yep...It's like when chicks with naturally phat asses make videos in the gym telling other women if they do their workouts they to will have phat asses like hers..lolNah. God given talent

Of all the things to compare it tooYep...It's like when chicks with naturally phat asses make videos in the gym telling other women if they do their workouts they to will have phat asses like hers..lol
he also has a brother who is no where near as goodWhy?

The answer is hell no. Just like for all these themed threads you create.Use your words![]()

Nope.
There's no doubt that he has talent given by The Creator, but how his shot is much more consistent is mathematics.
It's simple trig - the smaller the angle of the shot trajectory, the less area of the circle (rim) is available. The greater the angle of the trajectory the more area of the circle (rim) is available.
Maybe you just don't understand trig.

LOL you gonna differentiate the defense my g. LOL The complexities of difficult consistent biological movements are wayyyyyyyyyy beyond your trigonometry homie. If you could think your way to atheltic greatness all sports would be vastly different. If your mind had to calculate the velocity needed to shoot a basketball shot a certain distance to reach a target as well as the accuracy required you could not do it in 3 hours let alone a split second. The mind processing speed for physical activity is actually greater than our processing speed for non physical activities. Your ability to catch a ball takes vision estimation of speed location you can't think your way too it. Steph Curry's physical intelligence is Einstein-level, and his consistency through the lens of human performance is not mathematics, it's GOD. No one can consistently do anything the same way over and over again without an immense amount of will and determination. Even if you know the perfect angle for the perfect shot you still can't be Steph. lol
You right, I just looked it up after reading what you wrote and he put on something like 30 pounds after the 2022 MVP season. I havent watched NBA since 2019 so I admit I was basing my response off what I remembered from back then.Steph has gained probably 20 pounds since joining the league. He'a also changed his jumpshot.
Steph has a gift, but he also has a crazy work ethic. It's not coincidence that his Dad, him and his brother can shoot .
I don’t care about none of that math shit! If you don’t have the talent then all that shit u talking won’t matter! I can practice and apply math all day and I still couldn’t do what Steph is doing . And there have been players before him the practice and cant do it either! and there players after him that will practice and have practice and still won’t be able to and can’t be able to. He has something special that others don’t have period…..Nope.
