anybody??
I had left a review on the movie board.
It pretty much pissed me off. The whole movie was a constant build up............edge of your seat,.....waiting for the inevitable.......that you never see.
Movie was incomplete like a mf.

At least on Sum Of All Fears we get a bit of what should have happened in this movie.

the one thing i do know......................Trump would have blamed the Democrats.....................

lazy ending. sopranos style

and how did no one know where the nuke came from? no heat signature? with zillions of satellites in the air spying on all of us 24-7?

i'm glad i saw it on a saturday so i had sunday to get it out of my system

good acting though. sometimes i thought to myself, 'wait, string leveled up to president'

Bruh that shit was like a hot chick pulling her titties out jerking ya meat, talking dirty about what she can/ will do for 10-15 mins, then switching voices and saying the exact same things over again from a different perspective, and then 10-15 minutes later then again switching voices repeating the script. But this time at the end, stopping to go home......

It was really thrilling and exciting the first time. Kind of interesting but not quite as exciting the second time. By the third time, it was virtually not exciting at all, but weirdly still interesting.

And yet, you were still looking for the "pay off" that never came.

If the ending had given even the slightest peek towards a decision either way..... (the "God help us all" cliché wasn't enough.)

Since it was referenced earlier, I have to agree. The Sum of All Fears, definitely did the ending better.

Always a Black President,
always :(

That's because if things go sideways, they got someone and something to blame affirmative action/DEI hire
sidebar: 10% being that they also know that there's more intenseaction with a black president

I had so many questions as well, but they kind of explained it, but not really. (It was missed by the one satellite system)

It could've been a SAM launched from anywhere. (A boat on open water, a mobile SAM system seemingly in a forest, it was launched coincidentally while the system had a reboot....etc.) As shown with the blown "hitting a bullet with a bullet" attempt, our defense/monitoring systems aren't above errors/flaws.

But your question is very tangential to one nagging ass question I had. At no point in time did anyone actually "see" a missile.
They mentioned at one point high altitude cliuds were mistaken for an ICBM......

We have thousands of satellites and drones flying over and across the globe. There was not one that actually showed what triggered the computer system(s). They just said it showed up on multiple systems, so it wasn't an error by the one.

But then they mentioned the possibility of being hacked. So was it possible that China/Russia was telling the truth they didn't "fire" a nuke? but, in reality they compromised all the systems to make the government think there was a nuke in play?

I just didn't like that no one even mentioned, "do we have eyes on an actual weapon?" They relied completely on computer systems.

Speaking of computer systems, that IT dude would've haf to of been an employee of the federal government and needed at least some basic security clearance and understanding of the sensitivity of the nature of events happening in that room. That noob ass mfkr would have never been in that situation OR able to leave freely and possibly incite panic. Cuz as soon as that mfkr ran out of the room and unlocked his phone, you know he's running on "LIVE" to spill it.
That mfkr would've rushed out thay door and security would be sent right after him!

with the amount of AWACS they have in that region, i doubt if they were just solely dependent on satellites for ICBM launches.

my biggest concern is..................is this military protocol to not alert the public if a nuclear missile is inbound?
Do they just keep it all to themselves and just everyone go about their daily lives til they get blown to smithereens?
At least the brotha in the WHSR told the black dude in the kitchen to go home. Nothin else needed to be said, old dude knew the assignment.

I don't think they would alert the public,

You don't want to incite a panic and have chaos as people try to escape (some by any means possible.)

Also, then there would come intense scrutiny, questions, concerns and etc.
"You knew in advance in enough time to alert the public." "If you had all that time why weren't you able to intercept?" "How much time in advance was FEMA notified?" "Was there a military plan to protect the citizens?" "Why/ how did those fail?" "Are you truly able to protect the public? if you were given so much time to act this time and couldn't. What happens next time when there isn't so much advance time?"

Vs

There was an ICBM sent from an unknown location, we tried to determine its point of origin and intended target. Due to several factors, once we detected the object and potential targets there was not enough time to initiate protocols notify the affected citizens. There was a coordinated effort to destabilize our computer systems and network which hindered our ability to respond more aggressively.

Or something to those affects.

so we can get alerted for tornadoes and wildfires when there's little time to escape.................and get alerted for hurricanes.........

but if its an incoming ICBM........."no worries people..........nothing to see here.....go on bout your day....."

nah.......give people a chance.

nah.......give people a chance.

The problem is, given the context of the movie,

They didn't figure out the target until there was like less than 10 mins (more like 8 mins). The first EKV failed to make contact, and then they realized it was heading towards Chicago when the timer just crossed 8 minutes.

It would take at least 2 mins to get a city/ county wide alert sent out. That would leave 6 minutes at best...... how many people are "getting out" of the fallout zone in 6 minutes?

Bruh, I'm as empathetic and sympathetic as most people. But if you tell people they have 6 minutes to leave the city, all you're doing is inciting panic and causing those people so much stress and grief. You can't make more than a handful of calls, and thats if the telecoms holds up to the sudden surge in demand.

Those last 6 minutes, those people and their loved ones will be filled with so much angst, regret, anger, sadness..... the 8 stages of grief in 5 minutes. That to me, seems more cruel than to let them continue about their days/ last few minutes in blissful ignorance.

Now if there was at least 30 minutes. I'm all for it, give people a chance to get out and live. But less than 10........ nah fam, that's, that's not a wise move in my opinion.

Kind of like this movie..

"Forget everything you just heard, and go back to sleep."

If they had that much time, yes, alert the public and let the chips fall where they land. There's gonna be a lot of "missing" or "assumed dead" people getting murked those last 70 mins for various reasons. And people will get away with murder and a whole lot more crimes...... but in general, the masses will try to just get to safety.
