By Joe Otterson
October 20, 2025

Hulu has greenlit a reboot of “Prison Break,” Variety has learned.

The project was first reported to be in the works at Hulu in December 2024 with a pilot order. The cast includes Emily Browning as Cassidy, Drake Rodger as Tommy, Lukas Gage as Jackson, Clayton Cardenas as Michael a.k.a “Ghost,” JR Bourne as Junior, Georgie Flores as Andrea, and Myles Bullock as Darius a.k.a “Red.”.

As previously reported, the new show is set in the same world as the original series but will feature different characters and a new storyline. The official logline states, “An ex-soldier turned corrections officer (Browning) takes a job at one of the deadliest prisons in America to prove just how far she’ll go for someone she loves.”…

I can't tell y'all how much I'm enjoying the show Bosch. If you've got Amazon Prime, check it out. The characters feel so real. Jamie Hector, I didn't know he had as good acting jobs as he did

Really impressed by Paul Calderon. Other than bit parts and pulp fiction I had never really seen the man act. Seeing him in this show makes me wonder where the fuck was he hiding And why wasn't Hollywood giving him roles because he's good. He was just underutilized for years

Agreed.

He's great on the series. We're almost finished season 5, God.

Gonna check out some more Task and Slow Horses, and Bosch with pops.

The finale for Task, and the penultimate for Slow Horses.

We've got 4 eps left in season 5 of Bosch. Hope to finish off the original series sometime in December, and then start up with Bosch: Legacy and Ballard.

You and I are in the exact same place bro. I just started season 5 episode 7 two seconds ago. I ain't got shit else to do so I'm going to burn through it get through at least two episodes for the rest of the night

Mr. Scorsese

I can admire someones work for many, many years but never really get to the core of the person until i watch an extensive and great docu series like this. From his friends, family members and people he has worked with for decades and himself this is definitely a warts and all series. The drive to want more in life and the passion to direct and write some of the most memorable and incredible movies of all time is fully on display.

Right on, G.

It's definitely a very consistent show. Glad we're at the same point and it's nice knowing we still have a few more seasons to go, plus the additional spinoffs as well. Lots of material.

that is an insanely funny show - Have you tried Bosch? (pretty good) The Americans? (damn good) And there is a new season of House of Cards...

Re: If UR looking for a new series to binge on post-House of Cards, then look no furt

its not bad - but has some shitty writing in some eps...
the pace of the story is slower than The Affair (no where as good as the Affair, just slower)

If looking for a good binge I recommend
19-2 (2 seasons)
Bosch (1 season)
Honorable Woman (1 season)
Mr. Selfridge (3 seasons)
Justified (6 seasons)

Sneaky Pete is ok -
Bosch is excellent - 4 seasons all great

y'all should also check out Hand of God, Goliath, Tin Star and Patriot

all are good - Patriot and Tin Star build slow and stories get really dark - only one season each so far
Hand of God and Goliath are 2 seasons deep - stories aren't as dark but get a little complex

Bosch is solid - there is a bunch of The Wire alumni behind the camera and a few in front and in various cameos

There’s something strange about him. Malice, a new series starring Jack Whitehall, David Duchovny and Carice van Houten is streaming on Prime Video November 14. #MaliceOnPrimeAdam (Jack Whitehall) is a charismatic tutor who charms his way into the life of the wealthy Tanner family while they’re on holiday in Greece. When the family’s nanny falls dangerously ill, Adam orchestrates his way in to their London home and his true vengeful nature begins to emerge...Starring Jack Whitehall, David Duchovny, Carice van Houten, Christine Adams, Raza Jaffrey

Update

11:32 AM PT -- We spoke to Isabelle Tate's agent, who tells us Tate passed away peacefully in her sleep.

We're told Isabelle suffered from Charcot-Marie-Tooth, a rare progressive neuromuscular disease which confined her to a wheelchair. Her agent says the disease affects the legs but can also affect internal organs such as the lungs and heart. Because of the disease, Tate had basically given up on her dream of acting ... until she got the 9-1-1 role -- her first big booking which was just perfect for her.

Tate's funeral will take place Friday.

************************

Tate was 23 when she died on Oct. 19, according to an obituary posted by a local funeral home. She had just graduated from Middle Tennessee State University and had scored her first-ever acting role in 9-1-1: Nashville before her death.

On Thursday, Oct. 23, Tate's talent agency, The McCray Agency, said in an Instagram Story post that the actress died of "a rare form of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease." She died "peacefully" on Oct. 19 and her family "requests privacy as they deal with this sudden and shocking loss."

"CMT is a rare multisystem, multiorgan disease that causes lifelong, progressive symptoms, including muscle weakness and atrophy in the arms and legs, sensory loss, and other complications," according to the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association (CMTA). "These symptoms often lead to challenges with balance, walking, hand use, and other daily activities."

The McCray Agency included a link to donate to the CMTA, adding, "In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Izzy's memory be made at the same link."

Despite being at the "pinnacle" of her acting career, CSI: Miami star Eva LaRue's life was turned upside down when she received a disturbing note.

The note, which arrived in 2007 with the signature of "Freddie Krueger," turned into dozens more over the next several years that repeatedly threatened to rape and kill both LaRue and her daughter, Kaya Callahan.

It all came to a head in 2019, when the still-anonymous stalker called Kaya's high school and pretended to be her father while talking to school employees.

LaRue's harrowing 12-year experience is the focus of a new documentary series, My Nightmare Stalker: The Eva LaRue Story, which will be streaming on Paramount+ on Nov. 13.

Tubi Strikes Content Distribution, Ad Sales Pact With Bell Media

BY ETAN VLESSING
OCTOBER 23, 2025

The strategic partnership includes plans to co-develop original content for distribution on Tubi globally, across Bell Media platforms in Canada, and through Sphere Abacus, Bell Media’s international content distribution arm. Bell Media will also serve as the exclusive Canadian ad sales partner for Tubi, while its own ad-supported FAST channels will launch on the Fox streaming platform in Canada.

…That development deal sees the Canadian company and Fox partner on local originals for Bell Media’s CTV network and Crave streaming platform that in turn land on the Fox network in the U.S. market. Fox Entertainment handles global distribution of the Canadian originals.

The expanded content distribution pacts allow Fox, Tubi and Bell Media to share the costs and risks on TV series to be shot in Canada and that tap local tax credits and currency savings. The series will then land on linear TV and streaming platforms on both sides of the U.S.-Canadian border.

Interesting.

And for reference ... CTV carries alot of good stuff.

Most people in Western Canada have their home TV-internet packages through Telus, Shaw, Rogers.

I dont know anyone who has their home packages through Bell / Bell Media. Maybe it's more popular in Eastern Canada.

I had a cellphone plan for 15+ years with Bell though, but switched over to another carrier about 5 years ago.

The Crave streaming platform is good. Carries many of the newer release movies, and the catalogues for HBO / Max / Showtime. I've got the Lite version which basically is cheaper, but the price has been grandfathered along over the years and the new content is On Demand within 24 hours anyway, or day of. The regular Crave channels just carry the shows or movies as they're happening but costs more.
