UPDATE: Donald Trump Takes Office as the 47th US President

I have a Jamaican fetish.

Anybody who has been around Jamaicans for extended periods know they
are famous for not taking anybody's shit.

Blanket statement, yes, but I love the woman in the video.
I grew up listening to a lot of stories about how bad the people of Jamaica were and then I read a book and understood the context of those conversations. Coincidentally and ironically, it’s the same reason why I never heard of Haiti: those islands stood as big ass asterisks in the Caribbean for Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade.

Some of us didn’t take it.

75% of Americans report soaring prices as Trump claims inflation ‘over’

Nine months after Donald Trump took office, promising to reduce prices on “day one”, a clear majority of Americans say their monthly costs have risen by between $100 and $749, according to an exclusive new poll conducted for the Guardian.

The president has continued to insist that there is “virtually no inflation”. “Prices are ‘WAY DOWN’ in the USA,” Trump wrote on social media in late August.

Yet according to a new Harris poll, Americans are still reporting soaring inflation and are increasingly pessimistic about the economy...

Man came to work thinking he was going to be the dude, and she left him sitting at the dinner table that night looking like:

BREAKING: NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani stuns Fox News viewers by turning to the camera during an interview to confront Donald Trump directly because he knows that he "may be watching right now."

The future of the Democratic Party is here and he's fearless...

"I just want to speak directly to the president, which is that I will not be a mayor like Mayor Adams who will call you to figure out how to stay out of jail," Mamdani said. "I won’t be a disgraced governor like Andrew Cuomo who will call you to ask how to win this election. I can do those things on my own."

"I will, however, be a mayor who is ready to speak at any time to lower the cost of living. That’s the way that I’m going to lead the city. That's the partnership that I want to build not only with Washington, D.C. but anyone across the country," he added.

Mamdani could not make it any clearer at this point that he's not afraid to stand up to Donald Trump, even as the MAGA president escalates his authoritarian rhetoric and expands his terror campaigns. Trump has repeatedly tried to smear Mamdani as a "communist," which in Republican parlance just means anyone who wants to spend money on the needs of working class Americans instead of on billionaire tax cuts.

Trump is so worried that Mamdani might become mayor of his hometown — forcefully repudiating MAGA kleptocracy and fascism in the process — that he has even threatened to withhold federal funding to the city if he wins. Under saner political conditions, a president abusing his powers to hurt a major American city for partisan purposes would be a career-destroying scandal. Under Trump, it's unfortunately just business as usual.

Thankfully, Mamdani isn't backing down. He's going to continue advocating for the needs of average Americans while exposing Republican corruption.

Please retweet and if you support Zohran!

Dems need to be talking about this instead of "No Kings"

No, Democrats could do both
Sure they can. But "No Kings" is Dems talking to other Dems that are already going to vote Dem. That ain't gonna help you win an election.

Hell, how many protests have they had against Trump in the last 10 years? Not one has changed a gotdayum thing lol.

Winning elections changes things.

We need to realize there is a list of things that only online Dems care about:

No Kings
Jan 6
Project 2025
Kilmar Abrego Garcia
Media access

I'm not saying they're not important. But none of those things are convincing the people that didn't come out to vote for you in 2024 to come out and vote for you next year.

"It's the economy, Stupid"

Put that in every Dem office in the country.
